Katniss POV-

"Listen, I'm really sorry about how I've been acting." Bristol mumbles to me a little later.

We got back on the road about an hour ago.

Peeta and Carter have already made it home.

"It's okay, I know it's hard for you but remember that it could always be worse."

She makes a face and nods.

"I know that much. I've figured it out myself. Take it from me." I shrug.

"I know you've been through a lot, Kat. I'm sorry. I should remember that there are people going through much worse than I am."

"Just remember that and life won't seem so bad. I'm sorry about how I acted too." I apologize sincerely.

"It's okay, I yelled at you a lot in the hospital." Bristol laughs a little.

I laugh, "Yeah, you did!" I tease her.

"I know. I'm really sorry about that." She laughs.

"No problem. After seeing that, I think you deserved to scream and yell, a lot more than you did." I tell her truthfully.

Bristol just laughs at my words then frowns.

"I miss Carter." She says, tearing up.

"We're almost home. Trust me, she is perfectly fine with Peeta." I laugh, imagining him now, talking to her or rocking her to sleep.

"I know she is, that helps a lot. He's going to be a really good dad if you ever have kids." She says a little awkwardly.

"You know, I use to hate the thought of having kids or a husband but it changed when I met Peeta. I mean having kids is still a scary thought but after I saw how happy Peeta was when he met Carter, I can't deny him children. It may take a while but I have to make it happen eventually." I explain to her.

Bristol nods, "Yeah, I understand but Carter was kind of an accident. I didn't know. It just happened but I couldn't be happier with her, you know what I mean?" She asks.

"I know what you mean. It's just rough the first couple weeks, you're not use to it and that's okay." I try cheering her up.

"Thanks, Kat. I am really thankful for you and Peeta. I'm glad because I've never had true friends like you two." Bristol says sincerely.

I smile, "That is nice. Were glad to be your friend and we will always be here for you no matter what."

"Thank you." Bristol whispers softly.

I keep my eyes on the road and Bristol looks out the window again.

"Brandon does know she was born, right?" She asks after awhile.

"I think Peeta let him know. Why don't you try giving him a call?" I suggest, hoping it'll help her.

She nods, taking her phone from her purse and dials his number and waits.

"Hi." She croaks out in tears, after he answers I assume.

"Yes. I miss you too." Bristol cries into the phone.

Tears fall into her hands and lap, "She was born March 16th at 1:19." Bristol informs him.

"Yes. She is perfect, Brandon. Her hair is a light brown and her eyes are just like mine. Yes, she weighed a whole seven pounds." She says softly.

I smile, thinking of how much Carter already looks like Bristol.

"Katniss and Peeta's friends moved us both to Twelve, so I'm traveling back with Katniss. Carter is in Twelve with Peeta." She tells him.
