Katniss POV- (A few days later)

"We will see you soon." I say, parting with Bristol and Carter at their front door.

I lean down and press a kiss to a sleeping Carter's soft forehead. Peeta does too.

We hug Bristol one last time and we go.

Peeta and I drive to District Four and arrive about eight in the evening.

We are welcomed in by Finnick and he takes us inside to see Finn and Annie.

"Oh my goodness, Annie! He is getting so big!" I say, picking a wide awake Finn out of his bouncer. He stretches as I pick him up and yawns.

He is beyond precious.

"Hello, baby boy." I say with a smile and hold him to me.

Finn is two months old and he's still little, although he's much bigger than he was at birth and now, looks exactly like Finnick.

"He is so sweet." I say, in awe.

Finnick chuckles, "Just like his daddy."

I scoff, "You mean like his mommy." I correct him and we all chuckle.

I turn to Peeta who smiles, "Here." I say, handing Finn's tiny body to him.

"Hi, buddy." He says softly and Finn looks up at him with his big green eyes.

It's times like these I wish I could tell Peeta 'yes' now, but I can't because that would be making my decision without knowing if I am ready or not.

I don't want to be impulsive about it.

Finn cries out and Peeta's eyes get big and he pats and shushes him.

"It's okay, Finn." Peeta says, gently bouncing up and down with him and patting his back.

Finn quiets down and we all just watch Peeta with him.

How gentle he is and how he has no idea we are all watching him because he's that focused.

"Let's go in the kitchen and let the boys have some time to themselves, to be boys." Annie says, taking my arm and pulling me to the kitchen.

My eye contact breaks and I follow Annie into the kitchen, she tosses me a bottle of water. Which she knew I would want and takes one for herself.

"How have things been?" She mumbles.

I shrug, "A lot better than they were. Peeta and I had to go to counseling though."

"Oh gosh, that's not good."

I shake my head, "No, we are getting better though. How's everything with you guys?"

She shrugs, "He finally sleeps through the night. I never thought I would love sleep so much."

I laugh a little, "How's Finnick?"

Annie smiles, "Good. He's such a good father, if amazes me."

"I'm sure that Finnick is great. They may drive us crazy but I'll say one thing, we both got lucky with our husbands."

She nods her head, "I think we got the best."

"Agreed."

"How is Bristol? Did she and Brandon ever work it out?"

I shake my head, "No, they are almost officially divorced."

"I feel so bad for her. She is so nice and Carter is the sweetest baby."

"Yeah, but I know it won't be long until she finds someone else."

"It won't. She's beautiful and very kind."

"Very. It's been hard, not having either of you near me."

"What do you mean?" Annie asks, confused.

I shrug, "I hate you are both so far away from Twelve."

"She moved?"

"Yeah, I thought that I told you. Anyways, I want to be near you all too but Peeta refuses to move."

"I don't think moving is the answer, Kat."

I shrug, "I know but what if we did decide to settle down somewhere else? Sure, Twelve is our home but look at you and Finnick. You made a new district your home and it's turned out so well for you."

"We've dreamed of living here for a very long time, Katniss but I know you and I know Peeta. District Twelve is where you want to be."

"But what if there is something else out there for us but we are both too stubborn to try?"

"I don't know, Kat. I just think Peeta is probably right. Maybe Bristol will come back eventually?"

"She's thinking about it. I just wish you would both be in Twelve, with everyone else. None of us talk anymore. I rarely even speak to Johanna."

"Well, that's apart of growing up but you know Finnick and I want to be there for you guys too and we want Finn to know you both but we are so happy here."

"That's what Bristol said to me. We don't want to be strangers either but let's be honest, it's not like you two are coming back and I'm really happy for you both about that." I sigh.

"I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. I'm sorry, Sweetie." Annie smiles sadly.

"It's alright. I miss you and Finnick lot though. I miss my mom too."

"Are you two going to go see her while you're kind of close?"

I shake my head, "No. She doesn't want us to. I haven't heard from her since the wedding and we had to be the ones to call her. She said she didn't want us to go."

Annie frowns, "Oh, Katniss. I'm sorry. I know you're having a tough time but just remember Peeta is gonna do anything he can to help you and you know we will visit often. We are trying to wait until Finn is a little older but we will visit. Then, one day, when he's older and driving me crazy, he can come stay with you both. I bet you and Peeta would like that."

I smile at the thought, "We would. Peeta would be on Cloud 9."

She smiles, "I'm sure that he would."

"We have also decided both you and Finnick need a good nights rest, so soon I want you both to go up to bed and let Peeta and I take care of the baby. You said he sleeps most of the night?"

She nods.

"Well, if he wakes up, we will go tend to him. Okay?"

"Kat-"

"No, trust me. I want to do it and you deserve and so does your bratty husband." I laugh and she does too.

"Thanks, Kat."
