Katniss POV-

Peeta just came back from signing the papers and the doctor and him are talking outside the room, though I can hear everything they are saying. The nurses are removing the IVs as well.

"Please, make sure she drinks tons of water and cranberry juice. She needs to eat lots of dairy products too to help her kidney get rid of all the bad bacteria. If she has any problems after she goes home, bring her back up." The doctor instructs.

"Okay, will she be able to walk around and move? Her birthday is Friday and I had some stuff planned." Peeta asks, concerned.

"Well, it really depends on how she feels. If she looks alright and is feeling up to whatever you have planned, then I don't see why not. Just make sure she stays hydrated with good liquids, okay?"

"Yes, I will. Thank you." Peeta says and reenters my room.

"Hey, almost ready?" Peeta smiles.

I shrug and look down at my wrist that are slightly bleeding from the needles of the IVs, "Ugh, yeah. Let's get out of here. We come here way too often for my liking."

Peeta frowns and looks at my slightly bruised and bleeding arms, "Yeah, we do. Come on, sweet girl." He says, holding out his hands to me. Peeta quickly helps me change into some clean clothes from home and holds my hand all the way home.

"Did you let Bristol know I was in the hospital?" I ask after we get home.

Peeta's eyes widen, "Nope."

I laugh, "Oops, maybe we should tell her now. I think she would be upset if we didn't, you know?"

Peeta nods, "Yeah, do you want to call or do you want me?"

I shrug, "I'll call her." I say, pulling my phone from my pocket and begin dialing her phone number.

A few seconds later, she picks up.

(On the phone with Bristol)

"Hey, Kat!" Bristol pipes in over the phone.

I chuckle, "Hey, how is everything?"

"Pretty good. Y'all?"

"Well, okay accept, I had to go to the hospital last night for a kidney infection but I'm okay now."

"Oh my goodness, Katniss! Are you feeling alright? You should've called me!"

"Yeah, I'm fine now and I'm sorry we didn't let you know. We were kind of busy until now. If you want to come over, I'm sure that would be fine."

"Alright, let me get the baby ready and I'll be over soon."

I laugh, "Okay, bye."

"Bye." She says hanging up.

"She's coming?" Peeta asks knowingly.

I give him a look, "What do you think?"

"I think that's a 'yes'." He laughs.

I nod, "Yes."

He smiles, "Maybe seeing Carter will make you feel a little better. You always seem happier when she is around." Peeta grins.

"Are you sure that's not you?" I tease him.

"Well, I'm happy too but you know what I mean." He says.

"Yeah, I do. Sometimes, I think you love that baby more than you love me."

Peeta chuckles, "No. Close but no." He winks.

I playfully nudge his arm, "Brat."

"While Bristol is over, I can run to the grocery store to stock up on some juice and water and lots of yogurt since it'll help you feel better."

I smile, "Okay, sounds good."

"Cool."

We get home and get settled in.

About ten minutes later, we hear a knock on the door.

"Here, I got it." I say, standing up but Peeta grabs my hand about half way up and pulls me back down.

"No. You sit. I got it."

I roll my eyes and sink back into the couch as Peeta welcomes in Carter and Bristol.

"Kat, are you sure you're okay?" Bristol asks, sitting down as Peeta immediately removes Carter from her seat.

I laugh and she hugs me, "Yes. I'm just tired if that's what you mean. I'm sure I look fantastic right now." I joke.

"You look fine, just tired and weak looking." Bristol frowns.

I shrug, "Yeah, I've been sick for like four days."

"Oh no, what caused it to get so out of hand?" She asks.

"Well, I am on my monthly friend and the cramps were worse than usual and ended up so bad that I had Peeta take me to the ER last night."

"Well, that's not good."

"It's just a kidney infection but they said it was worse because of my period." I frown.

Bristol nods in understanding, "Yeah, you poor thing. I bet it was terrible." She frowns.

"I lived." I shrug.

I don't know if any amount of pain can ever top when I broke my leg, but who knows?
