The Cabin

{TEENAGE RHINK}

- Now I'm sure this wasn't a good idea - Link said, passing with difficulty through another fallen on the ground tree. It was snowing even more now and it was getting more difficult to walk or even see the path. If there was a path...

- Why did we come here again? - Link asked hiding his face in his coat.

- To show you the cabin - Rhett answered.

- I don't think there is a cabin here.

- It's somewhere here, I guarantee you! - Rhett insisted and continued walking. The snow was starting to get pretty deep and their legs were drowning more easily. The boys were getting pretty tired and it was more difficult to breathe because of the harsh wind and cold snow. Link started to seriously thinking about giving up.

- Link c'mon! - Rhett said louder when saw his friend stopping beside a tree.

- I can't. Rhett I can't, I have no strength. - the other boy lead on the trees trunk.

- Of course you can! We can't stop here. We will freeze to death!

- It's impossible to walk! - Link screamed. He was frustrated and cold and everything he wanted to do was go home.

- Let's go fucking hell! - Rhett screamed louder and grabbed his friend's hand, pulling him in his direction. He started walking through the snow and pushing Link beside him. Every muscle in his body started to burn, but he couldn't just stop here. They had to keep going.

Suddenly, Rhett felt his hand being pulled down, almost making him fall. He turned back and saw Link lying on the snow. He wanted to laugh because it looked like Link just tripped and fell and of course it would be funny for a teenager. In fact, it would be funny for everyone. But Rhett realized that his friend was in pain. Link was still holding Rhett's hand, squeezing it tightly and closing his eyes in pain.

- Are you okay there? - Rhett asked.

- I think I broke my leg. - Link answered, holding the tears.

- Broke?! - Rhett was starting to panic and kneeled in front of him.

- It burns like hell! I think there was a tree or something and I tripped.

Rhett's body was shaking but not because of the cold. He was really panicking. He was running out of ideas about what to do and the snow storm didn't seem like it was going to stop so soon. He took a deep breath and got closer to Link. He took his arms and put them around his neck and then picked him up. Rhett was surprised with himself, but still not sure if he could make it. He wasn't sure if he knew where to go, or was walking completely randomly. He just hoped. Hope that there was something or someone to help him. And after some minutes walking, there was! The cabin they were looking for was right there!

Rhett immediately approached and gave a kick on the door, half opening it. He then pushed it with his shoulder and immediately closed it after him. The temperature wasn't much different here, but I was definitely cozier.

Rhett quickly scanned the dark destroyed room, going then to, what was one day, the kitchen. He decided to put Link on one of the kitchen's counters. Link leaned back, slamming his head against the ruined shelf that was on the wall. He swore under his breath and rubbed the top of his beanie, trying to make the pain go away.

- Let me see your leg - Rhett said and lowered himself in front of his friend's legs.

- Be careful! - Link immediately answered. He wasn't already feeling well... He barely felt his hands or nose. The darkening of the room didn't help him as well.
