A/N: Thank you to @ImEpic64 for the idea for this chapter :)
As the days passed, the two men enjoyed each other's company more and more. Not a romantic relationship was stablished; they just simply hanged out around each other. Rhett would come to Link's house after he came back from work. Sometimes he'd bring food, other times he'd be the one who cooked while Link washed away his tiredness. They both managed for this "routine" to work without even talking about it. It just happened.
At first, it was weird for Link. Almost a week had passed since the day they had a fight but kissed at night. They just spoke through messages and sometimes late night calls. The dark haired man wasn't used to this kind of things. His life always resumed to come home late, watch TV or do some work, then sleep. Next day same thing. Yet suddenly his habits were rocked by a tall man with his body covered in tattoos and his mind so brilliant that it amazed Link.
After that night they took a "pause", at least Link liked to think about it like that. He was expecting Rhett to protest, say something, get mad at him, but he didn't. He just went with it and made Link go to sleep with a smile every night.
He decided that it was enough of holding back when around one week passed. He needed to see Rhett again. Talk with him face to face. Link invited Rhett to come over his flat at Saturday night and Rhett showed up even more beautiful than Link could remember. They had a nice dinner, talked about everything that happened during that week and laughed like little kids at each other jokes. Then they moved to the sofa at almost 1am and watched some program that was rolling on the huge TV. It was during that time that Rhett spoke with a sleepy voice and suggested that he could get used to this, like a routine, something that they'd usually do. After that Link deduced that Rhett just fell asleep because the red haired guy just went silent forever. Link's mind traveled to so many places thinking about so many stuff. It confused him how the two of them got along so well so quickly. Maybe the fact that they spent their young age beside each other helped somehow, yet it still confused him. Two completely different people...
Half of the next two weeks, Rhett would always come over and Link really enjoyed the idea of going home and knowing he would have company. The taller man would help him with work sometimes, other times Link would ignore the work and just watch movies with his friend. They'd always end up talking over them, completely forgetting that the TV was even on, and then just fell asleep in the middle of a sentence.
There were also times when at work, in front of his computer, the dark haired man would feel like he was letting Rhett get too close. He'd get scared of his own feeling and get suffocated with the fact that if Rhett decided to walk away now, he'd end up devastated.
It was the first week of May when Link's organism decided to get sick. He woke up even worse in the Friday morning, wishing that there was a hole in the ground to just swallow him.
Rhett didn't come yesterday, but he was perfectly aware of Link's state since the smaller man fell asleep talking with him yesterday. He checked on his phone and opened the message while let out a loud sniff.
Rhett:
Hope you get better as soon as possible! :-(
He weakly smiled at his phone and put it away on the bedside table. The time seemed to fly and he seemed to get slower at every step. All the sneezing wasn't helping him at getting ready and remembering what he had to take with him.
He was able to arrive at work on time. The time spent in the elevator was utilized to blow his nose, which was already pretty red and hurt.
Link sat beside his table and let out a loud sigh. His head was like a bomb ready to explode; his nose was driving him crazy, his throat hurting making him talk with a husky voice.
