M for Mature for torture
Sam's POV
I started to wake with something cold underneath me. My head was pounding. My body felt cold and tingling while I slowly started to push myself up on my shaking arms. Everything came back to me quickly as my eyes opened in a panic.
I grabbed my stomach to find it sore with slight pain but the wound was closed making me wonder how long I was out.
Emmett was the first thing I thought of. He was so close, the look of fear and panic was in his eyes as I was bleeding out with a gun to my head and all I could do was look at him, scared out of my mind, so pathetic while I silently begged him for help as he slowly took a few steps closer. I knew he was trying to do something as his wolves stood close, ready to jump when given the word.
He looked so tired with heavy bags under his worried eyes. I should have done something, anything, to help get myself out of that situation but I stayed frozen in fear. Selfishly putting it all on Emmett. I'm so weak.
I remember the man throwing me into the van before the wolves got to him, but then a rag was shoved in my face and everything just went dark so fast. I don't remember anything after that.
Baxter. I looked down in sadness, tears filled my eyes as the image of his lifeless wolf laying on the ground came into my mind. He sacrificed himself so I could get away but I failed him. It was all for nothing. Did Steven know yet?
The guilt filled me as I laid my forehead on the cold ground. Letting the tears fall, I couldn't help thinking how it was all my fault. I took away the one person that truly cared for both him and Lexi, someone who gave them everything they needed. They were so loved and happy at last and I took it all away.
"Good morning Samuel," a woman's voice came from behind me, making me jump. I looked around the small room but all I could see were the gray concert walls and the barred door next to me. I couldn't help the panic that started taking over as the room started to grow smaller.
"I'm over here in the corner. Up and to the left of you," she said again and I looked that way trying to keep my breathing slow and steady but it was proving to be hard to do in this small room. Then I saw a blinking red light and the camera it was attached to. "There you go. Such a good boy. Does this room bring back any memories yet?"
I looked around once more with my eyes. Something was slightly familiar here but I couldn't remember anything.
"No? Your body does though. I can see you shaking from here but don't worry I'm sure you'll remember soon enough," I could hear the smile in her voice.
"What do you want with me?" I asked, finding my voice again, even though it cracked and you could hear the fear.
"To finish what my sister started a long time ago. You were very important to her research but unfortunately, she was unable to complete her work... before you escaped." Her voice turned slightly dark with the last few words.
I heard the bar door unlock behind me and quickly jumped away as it started to open by itself. A man dressed in light green scrubs and thick chain mill gloves walked in followed by a man holding a gun pointed right at me. The man in the scrubs stepped closer and reached out for my arm but I quickly pulled away.
"Stop resisting or I will shoot you," the man with the gun said but I was ready to call his bluff.
"Really? By the way it sounds, you need me alive. You don't scare me with that gun," I told him and took a small step back ready to fight him if needed.
The gun quickly pointed down and he fired without hesitation, just barely grazing my leg. I dropped to the ground in pain and panic, covering the wound as it started bleeding. He began laughing.
