Emmett's POV

He towered over the woman under him, pinning her wrists above her head with one hand. Holes were stabbed in her legs and even on what I could see on her stomach with blood pouring out. I walked into the room as Sam raised his other hand, his fist tightly holding a blood-soaked pen before throwing it down, making her scream again.

"18," he said and raised his hand again for another blow.

"Please Samuel, don't do this," she cried again. "H- have mercy," she sobbed as she kicked her legs behind him, struggling to free herself. He stabbed her again.

"Sam," I said, walking into the room a little more in disbelief. His back was all that was facing me, his hair was shorter than before, cut carelessly showing a tattoo that looked like faded numbers on the back of his neck. I never noticed it before but with his long hair, I never had a chance to see it.

He started laughing and stabbed her, clearly enjoying himself for a moment.

"I'm so hungry because of you," he said, dropping the blood-covered pen and grabbing her throat. His anger came off in waves making the air thick around us. I never felt this kind of rage from him before. Even on the day he ran away it was nowhere near this and it seemed to get worse by the second. "I'm going to rip out your heart and eat it as you watch. Just like I wanted to do to your sister," he said but his voice was deep with a growl as she choked.

"Sam," I called to him again and stepped closer.

"He can't hear you," I heard next to me. I looked over in surprise to find Baxter. He was tied to a chained fence with IVs going into both of his wrists and stab wounds to his stomach that weren't fully healed yet, hardly able to keep his eyes open. "I've been trying... to call him back but Sam's not in there... and his wolf is losing control fast."

"Before I eat you alive tell me where he is," Sam yelled as he suddenly held his head with the same hand that held the bloodied pen. "Where is Markus?" He growled and slammed her head against the wall.

She choked, grabbing his hands to breathe. "I... I don't know... Please...," she managed to get out.

"You're lying. Tell me where you moved him!" He growled.

"He... ran!" She yelled, closing her eyes. "They- they couldn't find him... after you fell... into the river. He... left you."

"You're lying again!"

The anger and hatred grew more as the sound of a bone breaking made him hunch over in a gasp on the ground and whined high like a wolf. The woman on the ground in front of him looked only into his face in horror as she gasped for air.

He cried out as his spine started to shift and move under his skin in loud popping noises as each disk moved. He was starting to shift but it was slower than I've ever seen before. I knew something was different with Sam but I had no idea he was a wolf, like us. He never had a smell before now.

"Get him down and everyone leave this flood now!" I barked the order to my men and they moved quickly to help Baxter. I didn't know who Sam was asking about but right now wasn't the time to worry about that. I needed to get Baxter to safety for Vincent before Sam lost all control.

"That's not a good idea at the moment," Baxter said a little in panic as he slightly moved away but couldn't go far.

As soon as my wolves touched him, Sam turned to face us for the first time. "Don't touch him!" He growled, leaning towards us on all fours in a threatening and possessive manner.

My eyes grew wide in a gasp as I looked into his face for the first time. Nothing could have prepared me to see him like this after everything that happened. He was the demon those men feared so much in the hallway.
