Sam's POV

I woke up expecting to be on the hard cold ground again, but it was soft and warm underneath me. I could feel something warm holding my hand and opened my eyes quickly when that something wrapped around my hand a little tighter. My body froze as I looked down.

It had to be a dream. A sick, cruel nightmare to open my eyes and see Emmett's sleeping face while holding my hand. How could it be real?

"Emmett," I said, my voice cracked, my throat like sandpaper as my other hand clenched the blanket tightly. I couldn't help my heart from pounding harder against my chest. He stirred in his sleep slightly as he turned to face the door. "Emmett," I whined to him again.

He lifted his head slightly. "Hmm, yeah?" He asked in confusion as he still faced the door.

"Emmett," I whispered as tears filled my eyes. "Please, don't let this be a dream. Please, Luna, I beg you to let this be real," I cried in my head over and over again.

He turned to look at me. His eyes widened, the same bright blue color I'd missed so much. "Sam," he called as he let the wolf within him whine out.

My breath caught, holding back tears, as he knocked his laptop off the bed while crawling over to me. I wanted him, needed him. I wanted to touch him and feel his weight on me.

I reached out to touch him, but something stopped my arms as I looked down in confusion. My wrists were cuffed to the side of the bed, just long enough for me to raise them halfway.

"No." I couldn't help but start to cry as I pulled on them. "Please don't leave me," I begged Emmett as I began to panic. It was a dream. How could this life be so cruel to me?

"It's okay, Sam. I'm here. I'm not leaving, my moon," Emmett cupped my cheeks, making me look at him again.

His warm hands felt too real as he wiped my tears. "Is this real?" I asked, needing to make sure.

Without a word, Emmett pressed his lips against mine. My whole body felt like it burst into flames as I grabbed his dress shirt because it was all I could reach with the chains holding me back.

I remember kissing him before and feeling this pull toward him, but it was even more intense this time. Maybe, because this time, I could feel a greater pull towards him from Samuel too.

I needed more as I was about to deepen our kiss, but he pulled away slightly so he could look at me. "It's real. I swear it. Sam," he whined as his eyes filled with tears. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for everything that happened. I..., I should have never let you run out like that. I shouldn't have listened to my father and used you." He hugged me tightly. "Everything that happened was my fault. You're my mate, Sam. I've known since the moment you ran into me that day. I should have done whatever I could to protect you and keep you safe. I failed you. Please forever me."

My eyes filled with tears when I heard him say I was his mate. All these feelings I had, the fact that I couldn't get him out of my head, this scent that only came from him that I couldn't stop myself from needing more. I missed him so much.

But when I tried to remember what happened, my head felt like it would explode. I closed my eyes and let out a hiss. I tried to touch my head to help the pain, but the chains stopped too short of it.

"Are you okay? Do you feel any pain?" he started to ask while looking me up and down, touching a few places on my face and arms as the worry took over him.

"My... my head hurts. Where am I? Why are there cuffs on me?"

Emmett looked down at them for a moment. He slowly took one of my hands in his, linking our fingers together. It was a feeling I never wanted to end. Like our fingers were made to fit together just like that. "Sam. Do you remember what happened before you passed out?"
