Sam's POV

I opened my eyes, seeing the tall, dry green grass around me, and quickly sat up in confusion. 'Why happened? Where was I?' My mind was racing with questions.

A sound came from beside me, making me look over to find a large black and gray figure. I jumped away, trying not to scream in fear. It's been a long time since I saw Emmett's wolf, so it took me longer than needed to realize it was him.

However, looking at him in a panic, I couldn't tell if he was breathing or not. "Emmett!" I rushed closer to him.

His ears perked up at the sound of his name as his eyes snapped open. He raised his head in a slight panic and looked around, but I hugged his neck tightly.

"Emmett, I was so scared something happened to you," I said as I choked on a sob. Pulling away, he let out a whine and licked my cheek before rubbing his head against them. "Did I..., did Samuel hurt you at all?"

He shook his head and rubbed his face against mine again to comfort me. I hugged him again, relieved that he wasn't hurt.

"I'm so sorry. I failed you."

The fur against my body started to disappear, and I felt Emmett's shape change as I began to pull away. Before I knew it, Emmett was holding me in his arms.

"You didn't, my moon. You did nothing wrong, and Samuel didn't even try to bite me. I told you that you were different from the others, Sam. You and your wolf are no longer together as one, but I think Samuel trusts me a little more," he told me as he smiled.

"Really?" I couldn't help but feel a little better hearing that.

"Yes, really," he said, cupping my cheeks in his hands and kissing my lips gently. When he pulled away, my mind was blank for a moment, just like every time our lips touched. "Do you remember anything after you changed? Did you feel any pain?"

I shook my head at both. "The shifting was a little painful, but after that, it just felt like I passed out, and then I woke up here with you," I told him truthfully. It was the same feeling I had in that hellish place when I let Samuel take over both times.

"That's good. I'm happy to hear you weren't in any pain," he told me as he kissed my cheek. "Your wolf is so beautiful, Sam." He kissed lower on my cheek.

"Y- yeah?" I asked, feeling a warmth run down my spine. It was a little hard to focus as I felt his naked body move closer to mine. My breath caught in my throat.

He smiled softly and kissed closer to my ear. "We ran together. You killed a pretty big stag by yourself. You got a little protective over your kill, but that was a normal reaction to how hungry Samuel was," he moved my hair away from my ear, making a shiver of pleasure run down my body. "After that, you caught the scent of something else and took off again." He nipped at my earlobe, making me gasp slightly. "We chased down some rabbits, a fox, and even a beaver." He started to laugh against my skin, pulling me onto his lap with my legs on either side of him.

My face started to heat as I tried hard to stay focused on his words. "A- a beaver?" I asked as he started kissing my neck.

His hands slowly ran up and down my back pulling me closer to his bare body. My hands started to shake as I held onto both of his shoulders.

"Yeah. You fell into the water and almost took out the whole dam. It was like trying to keep a puppy out of trouble all day," he said, smiling against my skin as he kissed my collarbone.

I couldn't help my head from falling back, breathing heavily as his hands soon found their way to my ass while sucking on the skin around my neck. I could feel myself getting harder against his stomach, making my face burn deeper. His hands started massaging and groping my cheeks.
