Ch38. Emmett/Sam

Emmett's POV

"So this is Willow's Fall?" Vincent asked as we looked up at the tall thin waterfall.

"It's taller than I thought," I answered as my eyes followed the water from the top down to the fast and rapidly flowing river that flowed down into the river that separated my territory from Vincent's territory. Behind me were long fields of dried yellow corn stocks that stood ready for a tractor.

We both brought our warrior wolves with us, all of them. Our army was huge but Vincent was sure it was needed. Neither of us knew if the foxes or the Wolf spiders would be here and so we came ready this time. I had to command Mason to stay with Felix, it was for the best since his mate was starting to wake up but I wasn't alone. Brian was at my side along with Zack, my lead tracker, and my lead warrior, Dusty.

Dusty was an older man but age didn't affect his strength in the slightest. He was still my fastest and strongest leader. I trusted him fully to train my warriors and keep them in line as he did for my father. One of the few leads I kept for myself when I took over the pack 4 years ago.

Vincent came with his 2 betas and leaders as well, fully ready to fight side by side. I was grateful his pack and mine had been at peace for a long time, we may not agree with everything but they were good allies to have at your back if needed and I hope he felt the same way with my pack. I just wish he would tell me how he knew this was the place the Hunters were hiding. I felt as though he was hiding it from me for some reason even though he told me he would explain later.

"Okay, let's fan out from here. We will mark this spot as a home base so if anything happens and anyone runs into trouble, we meet back here," Vincent said loudly to gain everyone's attention.

"Exactly," I said, taking charge after he nodded to me. "We may be dealing with more than just Hunters as I'm sure you've heard by now. They've convinced the fox shifters and the Wolf Spiders to work with them. We have two important members in there but from the information, a brave fox sacrificed himself to give us, we now know there could be many more shifters within the building that they have been experimenting on. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, we don't know what they are doing in there so get yourself prepared for anything when we go in. Our mission is to find their hideout, kill anyone who stands in our way, rescue all we can and find out what is really going on in there. Viv will stay here with her group as our extraction team. Once the building is secure and we find them, she will move in with the vehicles and begin getting them all to hospitals that are waiting on standby," I informed them.

Vincent took over again. "We will only send the tracking teams out in small groups first to keep the noise to a minimum. Link with your leaders if you scent anything or see anything suspicious. The element of surprise will work in our favor since we don't know much about our enemy at this point but we don't have time to stall any longer."

They all nodded as Zack and Vincent's lead tracker took their groups and split them off. We didn't have much time to plan, neither I nor Vincent had the patience to wait any longer. We rallied our men as soon as possible and called our army together in one day. I knew Zack and Vincent's lead tracker met for the first time on our way out here but it looked as though they worked out a plan together in that small time frame.

I could only leave finding the hideout to them and hope it all goes well since Zack was still new at his position after he replaced Luke. I could no longer trust Luke. Too much happened and no answers were found after Sam was almost killed that day by that Wolf Spider.

They quickly left as I looked at the waterfall once again. I've never been to Willow's fall before but it was beautiful here. It's a shame this place will forever be tainted with blood in my memory.
