Emmett's POV
We headed straight into the pack house to help get the cells ready for all the shifters at once. Vincent took over at the hospital by helping get each one ready and loaded for transfer. Brian had already placed the tiger shifter in one. Thankfully he was still in his human form as I walked over to check on him.
We were working fast to try and make the beds as comfortable as possible. Many of our members began bringing down more bedding, clothes, toiletries, and whatever else they could think of to help make them feel comfortable in the cells.
We saved cells by putting the children that were too young to be affected and non-violent or harmless shifters upstairs in the guest wing of the house.
I tried my best to go up to each one who was awake to introduce myself since this was my territory and tried to explain as best as I could that this was for everyone's safety. They weren't prisoners again, and we were doing everything we could to find a way to stop this cursed feral form.
I learned quickly that no one knew of this fate, which explained why they didn't try to warn me this would happen ahead of time. The few that did knew so little that they weren't sure if it was true or was just a rumor to scare them. The only one who believed it was true and knew just a little more than ours was the sheep shifter, but after the tiger, he was closed off in fear and not talking.
It took hours, but we got them all moved in safely. Some had to be knocked out for the trip but were all counted for. Well besides the little girl. However, I believed she was too young to worry about her wolf form turning like this. I still needed to find her either way, though. She was too young to be out there without a pack, and the fact that she had a mix of Sam's scent to her made me question who the hell she was. They had to be closely related to each other for her to share a scent with him.
My head started pounding harder just thinking about everything that needed doing and everything happening around me. I haven't had much sleep, which I was beginning to feel the effects of, but I couldn't sleep with so much to do.
I ran my hand through my hair with a long sigh, closing my eyes as I stood there in the middle of the large hallway just to get a moment to myself. Out of nowhere, someone started yelling in a foreign language. I shot my head to the side to look down the hall, but thankfully I knew the language.
"<No, please! Hello! Please! Hello!>" I caught him yelling as I hurried that way.
I stopped in front of the cage that held the tiger shifter. The man was taller than me with large green and yellow eyes that looked at me in confusion and scared.
"<You! I- I remember you. I didn't mean to attack. Please believe me, alpha wolf. Please.>" he begged.
I held my hands up to stop him. "<I'm okay. We know you didn't mean to attack, but for your safety and others, we have moved you and the others here for the time being. My name is Emmett. You are?>"
"<Dima from the jungle mountain streaks across the sea.>"
"<Dima, I am trying to help you as much as I can. You are not a prisoner here, but you must stay in the cell in case you lose control again. The Hunters have turned your tiger feral, but I am trying to find a way to reverse it. You're the first that's woken after turning. Please tell me where you're from, what happened? Anything you know about the shift? Whatever will help us.>"
We sat there for some time as he told me how they attacked him and a small group who were transporting goods from their mountain to another. The Hunters came and attacked, killing his cub. It was his cub's first time out of the safety of the mountain. He had just turned 16. It was a sad moment as the man mourned his cub for a moment.
