Emmett's POV

We walked over to the line that separated my territory from the foxes. I truly hated being this close to them. At least on the other side of my territory, there was a road and a river that separated my territory from Vincents so there was no chance of crossing so easily but here they could cross at any moment if they wanted to attack.

This time Vincent came, with a few picked men at his side. Mason and Brian were both with me and a few others but I didn't want to be too noticeable so we only had a small group all in all.

Walking up we could see the fox pacing around and biting one of his nails. He looked even more nervous than before. He was dressed in a black fishnet undershirt that hugged tightly against his bare stomach and covered his arms with a loose-fitting blue crop top, showing off his thin and flat stomach and wide hips.

He looked up and his eyes widened looking among us all before they stopped on Mason and a slight smile tugged against his cheeks. He stepped forward but stopped himself at the line before he looked at me, silently asking for permission so I gave him a slight nod.

He ran over and jumped into Mason's arms, rubbing their cheeks together like they haven't seen each other in years. We gave them a moment as they kissed but once it started to heat a little too much Vincent cleared his throat to remind them we were still here.

Mason smiled and laughed a little awkwardly. "Sorry," he said as he lowered Felix back down to the ground.

"Did you learn what happened?" I asked him.

"Y- yes, I found out all I could in the time you gave me. They didn't stay in our territory, they just passed through. I guess my father made a deal that if he helped hide their trail then they wouldn't experiment on fox shifters anymore," he said looking at me with pain in his eyes. "I couldn't find out what kind of experiments they do but..." he looked down, the look of guilt taking over him. "But I don't think your mate is the only one they've taken in the last 10 years. They've passed through many times with only a few of my father's trusted men knowing. How could he keep that from us for all these years? How could he know and not say anything or do anything to stop this?" He asked in disappointment. "I had no idea but I can't just sit back and let this continue. The Hunters are cruel, selfish humans. Knowing what I know now... I can't let this go on any further. I- I want to help you as much as I can."

"Did you find out where they left your territory?" Vincent asked as he stood next to me.

Felix looked at him and nodded. "Yes, they cross over into-,"

"Well, well," a voice came from next to us as we all looked over quickly.

I recognized the voice but it didn't hit who it was until we saw Asher, the black fox alpha, standing on top of the hill behind Felix. He had jet black hair like mine but it was longer, to his shoulders. He and Felix honestly looked a lot alike in the beauty of their faces but you could see the old age setting in. A few foxes stood around him as did his oldest son and next in line to lead, Jasper and one of his daughters. I couldn't remember her name though.

"Now why would my son be talking with two wolf alphas?" He asked, looking between me and Vincent with his dark brown and red eyes.

Mason stepped in front of Felix, protectively hugging him as he put himself between the two causing Asher's attention to snap over at the two. He catches his son nuzzling his nose under Mason's chin. It was a display that showed a mate trying to calm the other.

"And what is this? Are you trying to protect my son from his own father? How odd," he gasped for dramatic effect. "Unless you are mates," he acted as if he just figured it out but it didn't seem all that real to me. Something in my gut told me he already knew they were mates before coming here. "Are you mated to a wolf, Felix?"
