Wild Heart [Max Verstappen]

Part 9

"Fuck it" he said and then it happened, his lips touched mine and I kissed him back. He moved his hands to my hips and I wrapped my arms around his neck deepening the kiss. He pulled me closer against him. I jumped up a little and wrapped my legs around his waist, his reaction speed was unseen and immediately grabbed my legs. He walked over to the bed and dropped me on it. I crawled up a bit and he climbed on top of me, I bit my lip and looked straight into his eyes. He kissed me again making his way to my neck, his cold fingers touching my thigh. It gave me chills but no matter how hard I wanted this I couldn't go through with it. I couldn't let my first time happen while I was drunk and certainly not with my brother's best friend...
"Max... stop... we can't do this" I whispered hoping he heard me. He looked me in the eye "you're right we can't, I'm so sorry this happened" Max crawled off the bed and ran his hand through his hair. I sat down at the end of the bed with a soft sigh. Did I just ruin my chance with Max? I started biting on the inside of my cheek and played with my fingers.
"Maybe I should go" he said and walked to the door, I followed him so I could say goodbye. Once I opened the door for him there was an uneasy atmosphere. "So I guess I'll see you later then" his warm raspy voice filled my ears, I enjoyed his voice but not in the awkward way. He gave me a kiss on the corner of my mouth and then left the hotelroom without looking back. I could sink through the ground of embarrassment at the moment, what exactly had just happend? I couldn't quite place it so I decided to go to bed. Once in bed, the entire scenario played back in my head, over and over again until I fell asleep.

Lando pushed the door open loudly and went to open the curtains. The sun shone right on my face as he shouted "get up we have to leave! It's race week!". How could that boy be so excited in the morning and after a night out... my head was pounding and the sun was so bright "what the fuck Lando" I groaned and threw a pillow at his head. Sadly I missed and now he started laughing like a damn goat, it made my head pound even more. He jumped on top of me "does my sister have a little hangover" he sounded like he was talking to a baby. I was ready to kill him , I love him but right now he was just being an annoying little brother. "I'll get you some water with a painkiller, you go take a shower okay. You'll feel beter after" he said and left to search for a painkiller. I did as he said and went to take a shower, he was right, a shower did me good. Every drop I felt on my skin was like a release. Until the images from last night played back in my head.

I put on some comfy clothes since we had to sit in the car for over an hour to go to another hotel, one that's closer to the Curcuit Paul Ricard. Lando was waiting for me with my water, painkiller and our suitcases. We must be very late since Lando made sure my suitcase was ready. We checked out and walked out the hotel, I walked straight to the car that was waiting for us. Lando took some time to connect with some fans who were waiting outside, he gave some autographs and took some pictures. While I was waiting I took a selfie and posted it on Instagram, I wanted to share my adventures and trips with my followers. As I was on my phone I checked if I've got some messages from Max but I didn't... only Charles texted me.

Lando got in the car as well and we finally could leave. Now was also the ideal time to get some sleep and avoid the topic "last night". I laid my head against the window and within 5 minutes I dozed off to sleep.

I felt someone shake my arm lightly and I carefully opened my eyes. "Were almost there Nora. Oh and by the way, we made a deal in the group chat that we would wait on everyone"
"Everyone?"
"Yes we are all staying at the same hotel, you will also meet the others"
I nodded and looked at my phone, still no message from Max... maybe I should text him first. But I wasn't going to do that, I knew myself. We drove in from the back to avoid the large crowds so we wouldn't lose precious time. We got out of the car and Lando helped me with my suitcases. Looks like we're first to arrive... for once. I sat down on the stairs and stared straight ahead.
"What happened yesterday? Charles said you went back with Max?"
Really, he had to have this conversation now, I so hoped to avoid this since I didn't even know what was going on.
"Nothing"
"Nothing? Then why are you dreaming all the time and being to quiet"
"I'm just tired and have a hangover, can I?" I snapped and laid my head down on my knees.
"There is more to it, I know you Nora"
I sighed and shook my head "I don't want to talk about it right now"
Lando nodded his head and I could see he understood. At that moment several cars arrived at once, Daniel, Pierre, Carlos, George, Charles and Max. I quickly stood up and brushed the dirt from my pants. The guys came up to us and greeted us, they gave Lando a fist bump and I got a kiss on my cheek. Only Max didn't, he gave a fist bump to Lando but only smiled at me weakly. He probably regret what happened between us yesterday.
"So guys we all have a group dinner tonight, it's race week. We will meet here at 7" Lewis said, I wasn't sure if I was invited so I looked at Lando who was already excited. Daniel wrapped his arm around me "You're part of us now so you're more than welcome to join" he said while giving me a little squeeze. "Thank Dani"
Daniel's head looked down at me "did you call me Dani?"
I nodded not being sure if that was a smart move "awe welcome to the family little one" he squeezed my cheeks and I look at him with big eyes.
"Let's check in guys, let's meet here at 7" Lewis repeated himself and walked in followed by the others.
