Wild Heart [Max Verstappen]

Part 33

I was already looking forward to having a wellness day with my mother-in-law and 2 pregnant sisters-in-law. The day went by so quickly because it was so much fun and everyone enjoyed it. All 4 of us arrived back at the cottage relaxed and satisfied, the boys were playing cards Jos, Sophie, Victoria and Emma went to sleep so it was only Max, Pierre, Daniel and I who sat downstairs at the kitchen table. Daniel had the fantastic idea to play a drinking game with shots. The first game was still okay, questions were asked and if you didn't want to answer you had to drink a shot. Next up was 'never have I ever', this is where some interesting things came up. Our loud laughter had awakened Emma and she had come downstairs to sit with us for a moment and listen to our not so intelligible or meaningful things. As Emma followed with a grin we moved on to truth or dare. If you didn't want to answer truthfully, you had to drink, if you pick dare you really had to do it. Everyone was already very tipsy and everything started to be funny, I had to giggle at everything and quickly turned red on certain questions.

"Good Max...  truth or dare?" Daniel asked
"Truth"
"Mhhhh okay so who did you have the best sex with?"
I could feel myself turning red again, but to my surprise he didn't even look at me and just grabbed his glass and took a shot. My first red cheeks now turned white and I started to feel a bit insecure, my smile disappeared like snow in the sun. It amazed me how such a small action made me feel so insecure. Emma looked at me questioningly but I shook my head slightly.
I pushed myself up at the table "I'm going to sleep" I said briefly and waddled to the stairs to continue my way to the room. Suddenly I felt a hand on my lower back and a hand around my arm to support me. I looked next to me and saw Emma "you don't have to do this love I don't want anything to happen to you or the two little ones"
Emma chuckled "and I don't want anything to happen to you so I'll make sure you're okay I end up in your bed"
I nodded and felt my stomach turn, once I got to the bed I let myself fall on it.
"Are you okay" Emma asked concerned as she put a glass of water next to the bed.
"I think so"
"Even with what just happened? That Max wouldn't answer? I saw your face change"
I felt the bed collapse next to me when Emma sat down next to me, I laid my head on her lap and let out a sigh.
"Go to sleep, I'll stay until you're asleep."
I nodded and closed my eyes to fall asleep less than 5 seconds later.

The next morning sun shone through the curtains and woke me up. I sat up in bed and stretched. Next to me was a sleeping Max, I was still disappointed in him after yesterday. I crawled out of bed and went downstairs where no one was yet. I made myself a cup of tea, then I went outside to enjoy the morning sun. I heard a door open and Pierre came walking towards me. "Good morning" he smiled as he sat down next to me.
"Good morning"
"How are you feeling?"
"I feel okay, what about you?"
"Actually, I do too... listen, I found Max his reaction on his question a bit vague. I saw that you couldn't laugh at it"
I shrugged "it made me insecure"
"I can believe that Nora, maybe try talking about it today?"
"I really don't feel like it at the moment"
Now it was his turn to nod and we enjoyed the sun for a while. Max now came out too and I decided to stand up and take a shower. Without saying a word or giving him a look, I walked past him to the bathroom. The warm water ran down my body and I enjoyed it, it gave me some peace.

This afternoon there was a Red Bull event that we all had to attend.
The Verstappen family had a table that I was allowed to join. Max first had to do interviews and had to go with another girl. But I didn't worry about that... after my blissful shower I decided to get ready.
I quickly dried my hair so that I could straighten my hair in peace. I quickly put some mascara on with some lip gloss and I walked downstairs in my outfit.

"Oh you look great!" cried Victoria to the whole house. I started laughing "thank you, I'm all set for this afternoon"
Some of the faces we looked at confused
"This afternoon?" asked Jose.
"Uh yeah? Isn't it that Red Bull event this afternoon?"
And then it came to everyone, they had all forgotten about it and now they started to mix like crazy to get ready. What would they do without me...

We left for the event with different cars. I still hadn't said a single word to Max, but now I had no choice... he was sitting next to me in the car.
"What have you got today?" He whispered
"Think about that" was my answer, I heard him sigh. We arrived and Max had to go in somewhere other than us. He gave me a kiss on my cheek and walked away. I went to our table with the Verstappen family and sat down. Max walked on stage with another girl to give a speech and to talk about F1. After that they walked off stage and were talking and laughing. I hate it but I felt a jealous feeling coming up.
