Wild Heart [Max Verstappen]

Part 17

The annoying sound of an alarm clock woke me up. The sound was already quietly dropped and I felt Max carefully get out of bed and start to put on his clothes.
"Where are you going?" I whispered as I sat up, I pulled the blanket around me and watched him get dressed "I have to catch my flight, I'll see you in Austria" He walked over to me and gave me a kiss on my forehead.
"Okay be careful" he smiled and left the hotelroom as quietly as possible. I also decided to get up and take a shower, while showering all I could think about was last night, his touches on my body. I wrapped a towel around my body and looked at myself in the mirror and saw 2 hickeys on my neck, running my fingers over the prints he left. How could I cover this up... I have no makeup that could cover this up. I tapped my nails against the sink as I thought. I put on some comfortable clothes and concentrated back on the 2 reddish marks on my neck. I was pulled out of my thoughts by the bathroom door being thrown open.
"Dude Lando what if I was naked"
"That would be embarrassing but I really need to go to the toilet"
"Go ahead I'm done here, you have an hour until we have to leave Lando" I said as I walked out of the bathroom. I made sure everything from luggage was ready to take, including Lando's. I took two bottles of water so we had something to drink on our way to the airport. I waited for Lando so we could check out and head to the airport together. Together we left for the airport and I was already looking forward to Austria, I wanted to see as much as possible before the race weekends. After a few hours of flying we arrived in Austria. To my surprise, Lando hadn't noticed anything on my neck yet, I did my very best to let my hair hang in front of it. We were taken to the hotel and once we got there there was a large swarm of fans waiting for the drivers. Lando went to the fans to sign jerseys, caps, phone cases, etc. and also took the time to take some pictures. Many questions were jumbled and some were difficult to understand, yet there were some that I understood well from a distance.
"Isn't max with Ava or is he dating your sister or maybe both without them knowing?"
"What do you expect from the race this weekend?"
I saw Lando do his best to dodge certain questions. After a few minutes he returned and helped me with the luggage and went inside.
"That's why I don't want you and Max to start something with each other, so many questions that I have to avoid"
I rolled my eyes "Don't start about it again Lando, you're making this really difficult"
He stopped responding and together we took the elevator to the 5th floor, that entire floor was especially for all drivers. We went inside and I couldn't believe my eyes "what a beautiful room this is"

Before I could say he could come over, there was a knock on the door. I grinned and went to open the door, I immediately felt Max's soft lips on mine and his strong arms around my waist. I smiled against his lips and he closed the door behind him with his foot. He pulled me close to his body and interrupted the kiss to look at me "hey you"
"Hey, do you want a drink?"
"Some water is good"
I nodded and walked to the minibar to get a bottle of water, meanwhile Max sat down on the couch. I sat down next to him and handed the bottle of water.
"Do you have anything planned tonight?" he asked after he took a sip, I shook my head no.
"Alright then I'll take you to see the city in the dark"
"I didn't know you could be so romantic"
"Oh there's a lot you don't know yet" he winked
I laughed "shouldn't you exercise? I heard from Lando that everyone or at least most of them are now going to work out"
"That's why I will go later to avoid the crowds"
"That's smart"
"I am smart, don't underestimated me"
"Oooh Mr. Verstappen I wouldn't dare" I grinned.
He pushed me over so that I was on my back on the couch, he climbed on top of me and pinned my hands above my head, one hand held my hands above my head and his other hand was on my cheek, I wrapped my legs around his waist. He made his way with kisses to my neck and then looked at his 2 prints from yesterday, he smiled proudly. The door flew open and Lando walked in, we were both startled and Max made sure he sat back down as fast as he could, he pulled me up so that I sat back aswel. There was an awkward silence and the three of us looked at each other without saying a word. I wondered if Lando had seen us, I assumed he had. I cleared my throat "you're back soon"
"Yes, I was ready quickly, Max want to go for a run together later?"
"Of course within an hour, I'm going to train first"
"Then I'll see you later mate" Lando gave Max a fist and Max gave me a kiss on the cheek before he left.
"Is that really necessary Nora?"
I looked at him incomprehensibly "what are you talking about?"
"That you were doing the I don't wanna know what"
I sighed "Look Lando I know it's your best friend but you can't choose who you fall for"
Now it was his turn to sigh and he came to sit next to me "I know that, I just don't want you to get hurt and things get awkward, I don't want to lose him"
I nodded understanding "Then Max and I will make sure nothing like that happens, come on where's that funny smiley Lando?" I squeezed one cheek and made baby noises. He started laughing and knocked my hand away.
"You don't mind that I'm going for a run with Max and you're here alone?"
"No don't worry about me, I'll find a victim who wants to spend time with me"
"I know someone"
I looked at him questioningly.
"Charles"
I took the pillow that was next to me and hit it against his head.
"Shut up"
"When you're gone for a run with Max, I'll go to the store, do you want something?"
Lando thought for a moment "Milk! Because we don't have that here"
"I wouldn't be surprised if you would change into milk someday"
He laughed "You know I love my milk"
"I'll take care of it"
"Thank you"

Lando got up after talking for a while and then left with Max for their run. I walked out of the hotel and a small group of Formula 1 fans stood behind the entrance gate. They were probably hoping for a driver to come out, but it was me who came out, that was probably a big disappointment. To my great surprise I heard my name come from the group, I decided that I'd go to them.
I put my sunglasses in my hair, completely forgetting that my neck was visible. I decided to walk to the gate and say hello. So many questions were asked about Lando but also about Max and me and Ava and about the other drivers. I gave an honest answer to most questions, some even wanted to take a picture with me, it felt a bit awkward but I did it anyway. They told me who they were waiting for and what they thought about last weekend. It was actually a nice group to chat with. After a good 10 minutes I decided to say goodbye and leave through the back exit. I put my sunglasses on my nose and went to a small shop on the corner of the street. There I bought milk for Lando and looked around for a while.
My phone's notifications went crazy, I got one after another. I paid first, then walked outside to check the notifications. I was mentioned in several photos on Instagram, the fans had already put the photos online and I gained thousands of followers. I decided to turn off my notifications or else I'd go crazy.
