Part 35

There was a hellish sound in my ears, I carefully opened my eyes, which I closed immediately because of the sheet of white light that hurt my eyes. I turned my head to the side, only now did I notice that something was wrong with my right index finger and in my left hand I felt a light pressure. Again I opened my eyes, the first moment it was blurry but it improved within a minute.
"Oh Nora I'm here, it's okay" I heard Max say as he rubbed my cheek.
"What happened., where am I?" I asked in a spirited voice.
"At the hospital, they found traces of drugs in your blood...when I was at the after party you called me and you said very strange things... Emma had heard something fall in the bathroom and had asked Pierre and Daniel for help. They then forced the door open and Pierre carried you downstairs while Daniel called the ambulance. Victoria and Emma were a bit shocked at the sight, you really didn't look good"
All I could do now was nod, I had to let it all sink in.
"Drugs? How? Have you called Lando yet?"
"Either you took them or someone put something in your drink... because you're not the only one, they've ingested young women with drugs in their blood all day. Yes I called him... I'll let everyone know you're awake later"
I cleared my throat and looked around, I wanted to sit up but I was still a bit too weak to do that so Max helped me sit up a bit .
"Would you like some water?"
"Yes please"
Max got up and walked to the small table where there was a glass and a bottle of water.
He sat down next to me on the bed, holding the glass with one hand while supporting my head with the other.
"I can drink myself" I chuckled. "No, you have to rest" was his counter answer.
He helped me drink and put the glass next to the bed.
"I'm sorry" he suddenly said as he took my hand.
"For what?"
"That I was so intimate with that girl from yesterday"
I shrugged and looked at our hands intertwined
"I'm serious Nora, you're the one for me and I don't want to lose you for being stupid "
"Max just forget about it, you didn't do anything wrong it just made me a bit jealous and insecure"
"You don't have to feel insecure... you're so much more beautiful than any girl combined"
"Exaggerator"
We both laughed and I snuggled up to him
"can I go home today?"
"The doctor was going to come by later for some check ups. We just have to wait and see and maybe it's better that you stay at home this weekend so you can rest a bit."
Somehow I knew he was right but I wanted so badly to support him and Lando. Maybe I should just support them this weekend at home.

The doctor came in and greeted us, Max went into the hallway so the doctor could do some more tests and check if everything is alright.
"Miss Norris you can leave the hospital later today"
"Thank you doctor"
The doctor filled out a few more papers and then left the room. Then Max came back in "and? Can you go today?"
"Yes I'm okay, just need some rest"
"Fantastic, then I can drop you off at home before I leave for race week"
"Great"

Once we arrived at Max's home, he made sure everything was in order and ready for me. He took really good care of me... too bad I had to miss him for a week. He helped me into the couch and put on Netflix for me.
"Will you be able to go up the stairs alone tonight?"
"Of course I will," I laughed as I put a blanket over me.
Max ran upstairs to quickly prepare his suitcases so that he could leave in an hour.
I quickly FaceTimed a concerned Lando. But when he saw that I was no longer in the hospital, he was a little less concerned. After the facetime Max came to cuddle with me.
"Good luck this weekend, I'm rooting for you" "Thank you baby"
"Be careful, okay?"
"Always, I'll try to facetime you when I can?"
"You'll see if you find the time"
I gave him a kiss and smiled while I looked into his blue ocean eyes our faces still close together.
He grabbed my head with his strong hands and pressed his lips on mine. It was a more passionate kiss than before, I grabbed his sweater by the collar and pulled him even closer to me.
He interrupted the kiss and bit his lip "I really have to leave now" he whispered.
With a pout I nodded "I know, be careful"
"Always"
We got up together, I put his backpack on my back so I could do something to help and walked barefoot to his car. I put his backpack on the floor by the passenger seat as he put his suitcases in his trunk.
He hugged me again and I felt my heart break slightly, just knowing I'd have to miss him.
"I will miss you" I whispered
"Me too sweetheart, but before you know it we'll be back together"
I gave him another kiss and walked back to the front door and watched him slam his trunk shut.
"I put a sweater of mine on the bed for you," he said before getting into his car.
I laughed and rolled my eyes, he started his car engine. I looked at him and waved as he carefully pulled out of the driveway on his way to the airport.
When he was out of sight, I walked back inside the gigantic house. My first idea to do was walk to the bedroom to put on Max his sweater. Then I walked back downstairs and plopped down in the seat.
