Peter's POV

I laid in my bed wide awake, only waiting for Rue to open the door and plop down next to me. But when she didn't, even when my alarm showed 01.00. I had to get up and take a shower to distract myself, so I lifted the duvet and just as I stepped down on the cold floor I heard something. It was voices, but they came from outside my door. I walked up to my door and opened it, letting the suspicions take over my body. The several voices became louder, as I walked down the halls and finally I saw where they were coming from. I stopped at the end of the hall and looked at all the avengers discussing something, from what it looked like to be important. There were no smiles but only frustration and shock over their faces. I took a step closer as I noticed Romanoff and Clint standing together. If they were back that meant that Rue was back too, but where was she?

"Where's Rue?" I asked only then letting them know I was actually there. They all turned their heads, but Wanda quickly looked away from me as there were tears in her eyes. That's when I started to get worried. I took a few more steps forward in attempt to magically see Rue behind the crowd, but she wasn't there. "Where is she?" I asked again and Wanda wiped away the tear. My mind began to race, as they all seemed to hesitate to answer me.

"Look kid-"

"Where is she?" I repeated, strongly interrupting Mr. Stark, who was looking down at the ground. I felt empty of answers so I paced up to him and grabbed the neck of his shirt with a tight grip. "Where the hell is she!" I yelled as Sam and Vision pulled me off of Mr. Stark.

"Calm down okay," Steve had stepped in front of Stark and held his hands up gesturing for me to as he said, calm down. I couldn't believe it. "Hydra unexpectedly showed up on the mission and they took her with them,"

"There's a big chance she's still alive," Bucky added and I turned my eyes to him.

"And how would you know that?" I asked.

"They would've killed her on the spot, if they didn't need her for something," he then said. "I've worked for them okay? I know their tactics,"

"Yeah and we're already working on finding her. You should just go get some rest-"

"You sent my girlfriend on that mission, so if she dies... It's on you," I hissed back, right at Tony's face with my finger pointed faintly at him.

"That's enough. It was no one's fault, we couldn't have know that Hydra would be there," Romanoff addressed. "And let's not forget that you two chose to be part of this team," she added.

"Excuse me if I didn't expect her to be kidnapped by the most dangerous organization to exist on her first on mission," I then shot back and my voice cracked slightly at the end of the sentence against my will. "I knew this would fucking happen!" I hissed out at the room and sat down at the dinner table frustratedly running my hands through my hair. I felt as if my brain was on pause as I breathed rapidly without control.

The things they might had been doing to her right in that moment nearly killed me.

"I'm sorry Peter," Wanda softly said and put her hand on my shoulder very carefully. "We'll find her," she sat halfway up on the table in front of me. When she noticed a tear only just escaping my bottom eyelid, she quickly lifted my chin and wiped the tear. "No need for that. She'll be home soon," she gave me a small warming smile, that somehow filled me with hope.

"She's right. Me, Barnes, Romanoff and Vision are going to the lab right now," Tony announced confidently. He leaned into Wanda's ear and whispered something in it, before him and the three others he had just named, left.

"You wanna watch a movie or something... to try and get your mind of Rue?" Wanda asked me and caressed my back with her hand. I sniffled and leaned back in the seat avoiding eye-contact. "Peter, she's alive," Wanda then said reading my mind. I looked down at my hand that was cupped by my other hand. It was shaking.

"She better be," I whispered and started getting up from the chair. "I'm just gonna go to my room," I put my hands into the pocket of my hoodie searching for the warmth and comfort no one but Rue could give me.

What the hell was I supposed to think at that moment?

There was absolutely no answer that wouldn't just drive me insane or make me want to blame myself. Maybe it wasn't the right thing to do to just blame Tony either. But something deep inside me had just expected Tony to as usual be arrogant and a smart-ass about the situation. Though when I held him by his shirt and looked into his eyes, I knew it wasn't like that.

He was grieving too...

"Hey," I sighed into my phone when I heard the little crack sound that meant Mj had picked up.

"Peter it's one in the morning is it really important?" she asked in a raspy hoarse voice as I closed my bedroom door and walked into my room. I looked down at my desk, where a picture of Rue and me together was framed. She had turned around and pulled me in kissing my lips, just at the moment Ned took a picture. Ever since, that had always been my favorite picture of us together.

"I really need to talk to somebody," I uttered now holding the picture up in my hand, keeping her scent, touch voice and face deep in mind. "Meet me at the diner, you know the one," I hung up trusting her to not just fall asleep and forget about it.

My door creaked open just enough for me to creep out and down the halls. When I reached the door that lead me out of the building completely, the doorhandles turned red and I couldn't move it even an inch. That red color was suddenly very familiar and I turned around sighing.

"Please tell me you're not going out there to try and find her," Wanda said as she stepped closer to me.

"I'm not I promise," I defended quickly as in that moment I realized how much it looked like I was doing that.

"Then why are you sneaking out?" she asked and with her powers let go of the handle. I rubbed the back of my neck.

"I just have to talk to Rue's best friend,"

"Going for the best friend already? That's kinda shitty Peter I'm not letting you do tha-"

"No! It's not like that, I just need to tell her that Rue is missing. Nothing else," I quickly interrupted hearing that Wanda was completely in the wrong lane.

"Thank god," she sighed and I turned for the door once again. "Just one more thing," Wanda said making me turn around to her as before. "You can't tell her,"

"Wanda they talk on the phone every single day. She has to know,"

"Fine, but you can't tell her anything else, than the fact that Rue is missing. Not anything about Hydra, 'cause she'll be in danger if she knows too much," Wanda stated. It sucked but it made sense so I told her I wouldn't do that and left.

It's literally so crazy how much the guy on that picture looks like Tom Holland!

Also I'm going through something I need to figure out, so I don't know how much I'll be writing, since I'm pretty much down all of the time. Hopefully I'll be feeling better when school ends and I'm finally free of my shitty small town school.
