"Are you ready for this?" Mr. Stark asked me straight up, just as I was about to put on my mask. She had been spotted outside a building with another man, dressed like she was undercover. Plus her hair had been dyed blond. Safe to say we got changed and stormed to the building as fast as possible. The plan was that I would try to turn her back, like Cap had done to Bucky and if she didn't, the others were my backup and would get her home anyway.
"I'm ready," I pulled my mask down and jumped out the window, swinging up to the building she hopefully was in. "Karen, show me where that window Mr. Stark talked about is," without answering him, the way was shown and he quickly crawled to it. He snuck inside, to a small office, luckily with zero people in there. He opened the door and stuck his head out. Seeing a man walking by him in the hall, he immediately retracted his head.
When the coast was clear, he got out and the next step was finding Rue. "Karen... scan the building and tell me if there's anyone dead," I felt weird asking for that, but Rue was an assassin... It was my best shot.
"Scanning... Two dead bodies detected right behind the door to your right."
"Wow that was easy," I turned my head and my heartbeat was suddenly beating faster. I put my hand on the door handle and pulled myself together, finally opening it.
A woman stood at the end of the room, with a painting next to her. The hair matched the photo, along with the black coat and heels. Her posture was good, but her back was turned to me.
"Rue Hart?" I carefully dipped my toe in the water, but the temperature was still not clear. She looked up, still not having turned her head, and grabbed something in her hand.
Slowly, I began to see familiar features, and oh god she was just so stunning I almost forgot about the mission. "It's Peter..."I took some risky steps towards her. "Please, you have to remember me." I was already closer to her than I had promised Tony to go.
She turned her head down, looking at whatever she was holding. She looked like she was slowly remembering something. "I need you to come home." I pulled my mask off and laid it down on the table next to me, as I took steps towards her.
I was a meter behind her when I put my hand on her shoulder.

Next thing I knew, she had me on the ground, her knee on my chest and a knife to my throat. I guess she didn't remember. Her face had me forgetting everything else in the world, but that was not exactly the best time for that. She was definitely stronger than me, as she could hold my entire body down with a knee on my chest. "Who do you work for?" She asked and pushed the knife slightly harder against my skin.
"Rue Hart! I-It's Peter Parker. Please remember, Tony, Cap, Nat, Wanda ALL OF THEM!"
"I have no idea who these people are," she simply said and put her knife back in her pocket and pulled out a gun instead. I glanced down at my one free hand and shot a web at the gun so it couldn't be used. Also using it as a distraction, I got her off me.
"I don't want to fight you!" I yelled. We stood about three meters away from each other, waiting for the other to make a move. "You know me. I'm Peter!" I couldn't lose hope, but it hadn't taken so long when Bucky began remembering. "We used to live together with my aunt. You remember May, right? Please?"
Something came upon her. She lowered the gun and her eyes softened. "Rue?" I asked, but decided to wait with taking steps towards her, until I was sure she was back.
"Peter?" She asked and sorrow was filled in her eyes.
"Yes!" I couldn't wait any longer, so I embraced her in a hug I'll never forget. She hugged me back, but not as tight as I was, almost like she was in shock. "We all missed you," I whispered in relief to have her with me again.
"You will be too," A sharp pain occurred in my back as she let me go and I fell on my knees. My mouth was wide open, not knowing how to comprehend the betrayal or the pain.
She had literally just stabbed me in the back.
She looked down at me, with a careless expression I never thought I would be witnessing. She wasn't holding a knife anymore, which meant it was still in my back. "I don't know who you are, but I'll let you die here. That'll send whoever you're working for a message." She chuckled and turned to the table, opening a suitcase.
I felt around my back with the little power I had left and found the handle of the knife. I wasn't about to pull it out and bleed to death, but what the hell was I even supposed to do? I didn't get much time to think, as she slammed the suitcase across my face and I fell to the floor.
Rue's POV
The door to the room blew up in a small explosion that made me quickly close the briefcase again. An arrow shot through the falling debris, heading for my shoulder. My reflexes could never let me down, so I quickly leaned my shoulder back and caught the arrow in my hand. I looked at where it had come from and a man sprinted towards me, clearly with a goal to fight me. I got in position and when he was close enough I threw my legs up and while in a twist I wrapped my legs around his head, pulling him down and making him hit the floor hard.

The pressure I had made on his head and the slam into the floor, got him almost unconscious so I had the opportunity to kill him. I pulled out my gun, but it was shot out of my hand by a new person running into the room. Right after he had appeared someone else came too. Two men, one with short brown hair and the other with shoulder long black hair.
They were good fighters and they were strong. Really strong. But I was still stronger. I figured out pretty quickly that they in fact weren't trying to kill me, but rather capture me. It made them appear weaker and I was just about to kill one of them when my body was picked up and smashed into the wall behind me.
I couldn't move and I was still catching my breath when I looked up and saw a woman in the doorway. She had red eyes and looked really angry for no reason. A whole team emerged and after my opinion I could've gotten away, maybe a little damaged but still functional. The force that held me against the wall was way too strong though. A man in a red armor walked up next to me and held put his hand up to me.
I felt a stinging pain in my neck and my eyes were soon as heavy as carrying a mountain. Impossible. I had to close them. For just a second.
