42. Hometown

"YEAH!" I said hugging her. "Is this the famous Nolan I've always been hearing about?" She asked.

"Guilty as charged." He said. "Nice to meet you." They shook hands. "Guys sit down! When did you land?" Nicole asked.

"We landed about an hour ago, but I only have today to visit you and check up on all of my friends and stuff. So we left right away." I said smiling. "And how's California been? How's you and that Zack guy?" She asked me.

"We're no longer a thing." I said. "Why not?" She asked. Nolan looked at me.

"He cheated on me." I said. "You want me to arrest him?" She asked. Nolan and I started to laugh. "I'm joking by the way." She said.

Her phone went off and she took it. Nolan and I looked at each other and he smiled.

"Hey Avalon, I need to go, there's a call and I need to go." She said hugging me. "Of course, I'll text you later." I said.

"Avalon, I love you, text me, and it was nice to meet you." She said while shaking Nolan's hand. "You too."

We walked out and sat in the rental car. My phone then started to ring.

Avalon// Hello?
Kody// YOU'RE BACK IN NEW YORK? ARE YOU IN TOWN?
Avalon// YEAH!
Kody// GO TO YOUR HOUSE. NOW.

Kody then hung up. "Who was that? I heard her screaming from here." Nolan said. "My friend Kody, she wants me to go to my old house..." I said. "Well do you wanna go?" "I don't see why not."

"It might bring back some memories." Nolan said. "Well I have you. So I think I'll be fine." I said.

We drove to my place. When we got to my street. I pictured my family and smiled. We stopped in front of my house where there was construction going on.

"I didn't know they were rebuilding." He said. "I didn't either." I said and got out.

I stood looking at it and Kody came up behind me. "KODY!" I said and hugged her. As soon as I knew it, a bunch of my friends started to run down the street, even some animals from the animal center were brought too.

Nolan stood next to me. "What's all of this?" I asked Kody. "Well in honor of your family. We are building an orphanage house here. Under the name of Briggs Manor." She said.

The tears then started to flow out of my eyes. Kody and all of my friends hugged me. A girl from my animal center just came up to me.

"Hey Avalon." She said, she was holding three golden retrievers. "Hey Kayla." I said smiling.

"I think it was time for you to meet, Lola, Nico, and Avalon. In honor of you and your siblings." I squatted and petted the three of them.

"I want to thank all of you so much, just for coming down here and saying hi to me." I said. "Avalon, you have no clue how much your family impacted all of us here."

I smiled. "We already have five people moving in when the Manor's done." I smiled and tears started to flow.

"Oh everyone, this is Nolan." I said. They all waved.

"Nolan can you take a picture of all of us in front of the orphanage?" I asked. "Of course."

About 30+ people gathered in front of the unbuilt house and Nolan took the pic. For about an hour after, we just talked and caught up.

"Everyone thank you so much for coming and for all of these gifts, but I have to get going back to the hotel." I said.

It was hard for me to leave but I actually did. When we got back to the hotel I was a complete mess.

I took off my sweatshirt and put on a muscle tee. I put on my sunglasses and walked out onto the patio.

It was sunny and it was so nice. The view was only of buildings and a golf course because there aren't any beaches near by.

I sat on the chair that was on the patio and just laid back and relaxed.

Nolan came out and hugged me from behind. "Today was fun." He said.

"It brought back good memories." I said smiling.

"Guys the tournament dinner is tonight so coach wants us to started prepping up and getting your clothes ready and stuff. The really fancy clothes." Jackson said while walking out onto the patio.

"Aight." Nolan said pulling me inside.
