"Monday morning kids! Wake up!" Michelle yelled. Someone knocked on my door. "Come in!" I said sitting up in bed. "Morning Avalon." Michelle said.

"Morning!" I said. "I hope you don't mind waking up this early in the morning." She said. "Oh no, I always woke up at 6, it's just I'm a little jet lag." I said standing up.

"Well your tutor will be here in about an hour, and lucky for you, you only have a week left of being tutored." She said smiling. "Yeah, well I'll see you downstairs at breakfast!" I said. "See you downstairs!" She said.

I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I dried my hair, put it up in a high pony tail, put on mascara, threw on my glasses. I went into my closet and picked out my black spandex, a white muscle tee, and I put my old softball sweatshirt on that the firemen saved. I put on some black ankle socks then my black converse. I took my phone and walked down stairs.

"Morning everyone!" I said sitting at the table. "Morning Avalon!" Lily said running towards me. "Michelle need help bringing the food to the table?" I asked her. "Yes please!"

I rushed to the kitchen and brought out two plates of pancakes, syrup, and two plates of bacon. "Wow, Avalon, how can you carry all that?" Eli asked me. "I worked as a waitress back in New York." I said smiling and placing the plates on the table.

We all sat down at the table. "Momma, where's Derek?" Lily asked her. "I'm not sure. Just eat and I'll be back." We started to eat. "There he is! The man of the house!" Mitch yelled out.

Derek actually smiled. Well it was like a smirk but whatever, but when he saw me, he rolled his eyes and stopped smirking. Like thirty minutes later we finished eating. I ran back upstairs and brushed my teeth. "Hey Avalon." Morgan said. "Hey." I said. "Mind if I come in?" She asked.

"Nope, come and sit." I said patting the bed next to me. "That's the first time in a month that we've actually had a breakfast like that." She said to me. "Well I'm sure that you're mom gets tired of making al-" Morgan cut me off. "No I mean, like together. As like a family I guess. We usually ate breakfast in like the living room, or in our own rooms." She said.

"Sorry, that means I like ruined your routi-" She cut me off. "No, no. You didn't. Everyone and when I said everyone I mean everyone... Liked it better that way." She said. "Well good, that's how my family and I ate breakfast." I said smiling.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked Morgan. She nodded. "Is Derek always like this?" I asked her. "Not really, he's usually always like playing around with us, sometimes we go around in town, or go to the backyard and go on our trampoline, or swim, or play basketball, or go to the beach and throw a baseball, or play beach volleyball." She said. "Oh." I said looking down.

"Why do you ask?" She said. "Well I feel like, I'm the reason he's like this." I said. "You are, but not you specifically. He just hates it when new people join the house, but give him a few days." She said smiling.

"Guys, all your tutors are here!" Michelle yelled from downstairs.

"Well let's head down." I said swinging my arm around her. She ran down stairs ahead of me. I shut my door behind me, I turned around and banged straight into someone.

"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING." Derek yelled at me. Everyone's attention then turned to us. "Sorry..." I said. I looked down at the ground and walked next to Morgan. "Trust me, it's not you specifically." She said hugging me.

My face was red as a freaking tomato.

All the kids sat with the tutors in different areas of the house. They all looked like college students. It was weird. "Hey Avalon, come here." Michelle said.

"This is Zack, he's your tutor." She said to me. "Hey." His arm stuck out and I shook it. His bright hazel eyes popped out to me. "Where should we study, Michelle?" I asked her. "Your room would be fine." She said.

I nodded.

"Let's go." I said walking. When I walked up the stairs Derek came out of his room again. "Hey man." He said shaking Zack's hand. "Hey, game today at 6." He said. "Hell yeah, get pumped man." Derek said. "Coach wants captains there early, so meet you at like 5:20" Zack said. Derek then looked at me. "Yeah. 5:20." Derek said walking away.

"Right this way." I said opening the door to my room. "Man, you got a nice room. Better than Derek's." He said smiling and looking around. "Thanks!" I said laughing.

"So how do you know Derek?" I asked. "He's just on my baseball team, ever since 6th grade." Zack said to me.

"So where we going to sit?" He asked. "The windowsill." I said.

The windowsill was officially my favorite place to just sit and reflect on life or do anything on.

"Alright." He said. I pulled my desk off the sky blue wall and pulled it so we had something to write on.

"So how this works is everyday, is a different subject, today is getting to know you. Since you're new and stuff, it's like we have to do this. So we didn't really need the desk." He said and laughed. "Oh, oops. Well I'm going to push it ba-" He cut me off. "Oh no, I may wanna write things down about you though." He said smiling. "Well okay." I said laughing.

"So this is pretty much going to be like an interview, I ask you something and you respond." He said. "Alright then, let's start." I said nodding my head.
