I woke up to Nolan shaking me. "I can't believe you slept out here." He said laughing. "Coach told me to give this to you, it's another team jersey but it's a muscle tee type because it's hot today and I told him you loved muscle tees.

I got up and changed. I put on the muscle tee with my black sports bra, spandex, royal blue bandana around my head as a headband and my converse.

"Look who's up with her team spirit!" Matt said. "She's got more spirit then any have you had for all the years I've had y'all." Coach said laughing.

I laughed and sat in the living room and ate with the team.

"So where were you last night?" Micky asked me. "I went to roam around the hotel." I said while eating fruit.

"But why'd you fall asleep on the patio?" Jackson asked. "I wanted fresh air and I just passed out." I said. "Guys stop it, finish up eating because we gotta go soon." Coach said.

We all finished eating and ran down to the bus. I was sitting on the bus alone and Owen texted me.

Owen// You headed to the field yet?
Avalon// Just left the hotel.
Owen// Meet up? Same place? Same time?
Avalon// Lmao yeah defiantly.
Owen// Aight, see you soon. I gotta go, the games starting for us.
Avalon// Byee
Owen// See you

I put my phone down and Jackson came and sat next to me. "So where were you yesterday night?" He asked.

"Dude, I told you guys." I said. "Avalon you've been smiling at your phone for the longest time." He said. I looked to see if anyone was near by.

"Okay, don't get mad." I said. "I won't." He said. "So I sort of met this guy, and I've been talking to him and he's from California too." I said. "And why would I be mad?" Jackson said.

"Because he's a tornado." I said. Jackson leaned back and sighed. "Avalon, tornados are meant to knock you away and destroy every thing in its path, he's just flirting with you to get in your head." Jackson said. "But I'll let you decide on if you wanna continue seeing him." He said.

"Come on, bring it in." He said while pulling me into a hug.

When we got the field, I went to the outfield and warmed up the guys. "Avalon, I need you to warm up with them." Coach said. "Why?" I asked him. "Because your playing."

The entire team was smiling. "Here are cleats, Nolan gave me your size, here are some socks and a slider.

"Officials say you could play in your shorts and I have equipment for you to use." He said. I smiled. The hosts keeping score on the microphone then announced.

"Woah, coach of the Blue Jays is putting in his female co coach as a player for todays game. I wonder what for?" One of the announcers said. "AS CATCHER!" The other announcer yelled as he checked the papers. I looked at coach and he laughed.

Everyone watching other games started to watch our game. Seats in the bleachers were already filled up. "Avalon you brought all of them here." Jackson said. "I haven't played a full game in such a long time."

"Well your gunna be amazing." Nolan said. As we warmed up, coach pulled me over and gave me the catchers equipment.

Everyone was called in except those who were on the field, including me as catcher and Nolan as pitcher.

We warmed up and the first four pitches went past me, but after that, I stopped/caught every single one.

"BATTER UP." The ump said. The first batter came up and spit at the ground right in front of me. Nolan had that, "oh shit oh shouldn't have done that" face and I got pissed off.

The batter smirked at me and I got in my stance. Nolan pitched it and the batter bunted the ball, and it legit only went two yards in front of me.

I charged for the ball, threw it to Jackson at first base and got that asshole of a batter out.

Everyone in the crowd started to cheer and it sent a sudden happy feeling into my body. I forgot how good this feeling was.

The announcers started to speak about me and my journey to where I was now, which made me even stronger.

It was the top 7th and final inning and we were up by 4 runs. As I was in my catching stance, I looked over and saw the Tornados. I also then saw Owen, then I smiled like an idiot.

"Batter up." The ump said. The same guy who spit in front of me was up. He smiled and I rolled my eyes. Nolan pitched, I caught it, and threw it back. The guy spit again, but this time closer to me right under my mit and I seriously got pissed.

I took a step back and crouched down into my position. Nolan pitched, the guy hit it, and threw the bat back and it hit my helmet and I fell over. I saw Owen try to rush over but his friends held him back.

"Time out, player out." Ump said. The guy laughed and coach ran out and helped me up. "You alright? Can you still play? Do you want to still play?" He asked me.

"Yeah I'm fine, and I want to play." I said. Coach ran back and the game continued.

One out two to go, the next batter came up and got ready. He stepped in, he made it to first. The next batter was up and swung. He hit it straight up which I didn't know what possible. I knocked my helmet off and caught it, I then threw it to first to get the double out.

We all went into the dug out and I took off the catchers equipment and everyone high fived me and stuff. "Avalon, your sixth to bat this inning." Coach said. I drank my water.

My phone started to ring and it was Owen. "Coach, can I take this call?" I asked. "Yeah sure."

Avalon// Hey.
Owen// I didn't know you were that good.
Avalon// Ugh shut up.
Owen// Nah. You're good, better than most people.
Avalon// Well I'm batting sixth this inning
Owen// Good, I'd be able to see you hit
Avalon// Maybe
Owen// Defiantly, kick ass out there.
(Owen stop talking to the chick, seriously tell her to fuck off) I heard in the background.
Owen// Sorry, I have to go, but tonight? Same time? Same place?
Avalon// Yeah.

I hung up and Nolan, Jackson, and Pat were on base, and Henry struck out. Will was out with two strikes and one ball. I put on my batting gloves and took a bat.

"Let's go Avalon!" Nolan yelled from third base, I took a practice swing and then stepped into the box.

First pitch was way to close to my face, so I ducked. It was a ball. The second pitch was right in my area. I swung the bat, felt the contact and ran to first. When I got to first I stopped.

The announcers were yelled and everyone was cheering. "Why's everyone so happy?" I asked the other teams coach. But all he did was stare with his jaw dropped. I watched the replay on the big screen and saw the ball fly straight out of the field.

"We aren't sure what she's doing just standing on first but that was the first grand slam in three years!" The announcer yelled.

A smiled then came to my face when I heard the words "grand slam."

Owen and the tornados looked sick. I ran to home and laughed. Everyone congratulated me and we shook hands with the other team and packed up.

People walked by and congratulated me, high fived me, I had a little girl even come up to me for a pic...

When we got on the bus we were all so pumped up. "Lony can I ask you why you stopped at first?" Nolan asked while swinging an arm over my shoulder.

"I didn't even know I hit one."
