"GUYS, TOMORROW, VERSING THE TORNADOS. BE READY." Coach yelled. When we got home, I took a quick shower, put on mascara, blue jean shorts, and a black swing crop top.

I put on socks and walked into he living room. Zack and Derek were talking with the guys as Jack, Logan, Lily, and Morgan sat out on the patio.

I walked out to the patio and shut the door behind me. "Hey guys." I said. They all looked up from the ground. I sat next to them.

"Guys, I want to apologize to you. Number one, leaving was way to immature, but I also found it was a good chance to catch up on New York an-" I was cut off by Morgan.

"Avalon, we should be the ones apologizing to you. We didn't even listen to your part of the story. Then Jack sent us the video and it showed how much you really cared. Ever since you've been here in New York, everyone's been out if the house. It wasn't the same." Morgan said to me.

"Yeah, we shouldn't have instantly blamed everything on you." Logan said. "Guys I love you, all of you. No matter what." I said. They all leaned in and hugged me.

"Tonight, there's a dinner for all baseball players and I want you guys up come. Alright?" They all nodded and smiled.

A few hours passed of just us hanging around in our rooms until dinner.

I put on a floral sundress and my converse. I grabbed my phone, and ran into the hallway with my team and my family, with Zack and Derek at the back of the group.

We walked down to the dinner and took our seats. "HELLO EVERYONE! That was the end of day 4! Now there's someone who wants to make a special note to someone." The announcer said.

I watched as Owen walked up to the stage. The team looked at me and I laughed and shook my head.

"So as you all know I'm part of the Tornados, and our rivals are the Blue Jays. But something's been going on. As we were in the airport, I ran into a girl and knocked her over, it ended up she came here. Whenever I see her looking at me in the crowd, I smile. Her entire team is even accepting me, a Tornado. But the problem is, my team, they aren't as accepting. I told them how every night when I went to go do an errand, I went to go and sneak out with her. The Tornados then kicked me off of the team. But it was worth it, because this Blue Jay, has changed my life forever. She's probably one of the strongest people I have ever met. Some of you know that she's an orphan, but you don't even know a quarter of her life story, so I'd like to call her up here and say something to her. Avalon?"

The spot light went on me. I stood up and walked to the stage. Everyone clapped for me as I walked up to the stage. I looked at Nolan and saw somewhat of a sad look in his face. Like he knew something was happening.

I walked on to the stage. Owen took a hold of my hands. "Avalon Briggs, these last five days of knowing you, I've fallen deeply in love with you. I don't need anymore days to know what I want, I want to be with you." I then knew directly where this was going.

Owen knelt down on one knee. "Avalon Briggs, will you marry me?" He took out a ring.

My world completely fell apart and stopped. The spot light became brighter on me, everyone was looking at me, and the thing I always do, I did.

I ran.

I ran to the elevators and went all the way to the roof. When I got to the roof, I ran to Jenna and I told her to let me stay under the counter. She sat down. I was bawling.

"Babe, what happened?" She asked grabbing my hands. "He proposed, Owen proposed, only after five days. It's only been five days and now I'm known as the asshole that left him at the proposal. Like what the fuck, he's 19 I'm 18 why the hell would he think this is a good idea." "And you ran." She said.

I nodded and my head instantly fell into my arm and I cried and cried. Jenna hugged me. "Stay here and cry all you want, but I have to work." I nodded and she walked away.

"Avalon?" I heard. I silenced my crying by biting my arm. "Stop biting your arm, I remember when you were ten, when I was boarding my plane to move to California. You cried, and to make yourself not cry, you bit yourself." Nolan then popped his head over the counter. "There you are."

He walked around, took my hands, and pulled me up and hugged me.

"I feel so fucking stupid. I fucking left him in front of all those people, and they probably all think I'm like this messed up person or whatever." I said while crying into Nolan's shoulder.

"Avalon, you did what was right for you." He said while holding on to my arms. He brought me towards the edge of the building.

"Avalon, look. You're beautiful, and you're only eighteen, if you're not ready for any of that, then don't do it." Nolan said.

"I know but I feel like ever since I lost my family, my life has completely fallen apart. It hasn't been the same without them and I just fucking hate my-" I was cut off by something I wasn't expecting at all.

Nolan leaned in, kissed me and I kissed back. He pulled away and hugged me. "You have no clue how long I've been wanting to do that."
