It was about 6 o'clock and I took out my royal blue lace skater dress and laid it out on Nolan's bed. By the way, royal blue is the team color.
I took out my black lace stilettos and laid them on the bed next to my dress.
"Royal blue, nice choice." Nolan said walking in and laughing. "Should I curl my hair or keep it straight?" I asked.
"Keep it straight." He said. I walked into his bathroom, took a quick shower, dried my hair and then brushed it out.
I put on mascara and then put on my glasses. Eh, I think I'll live without them. I took them off and put on deodorant.
I walked out with the towel around my body. "Turn around, face a wall." I said.
Nolan did that and I quickly put on my strapless bra, underwear, and the dress over.
"Okay, you could look now." I said. "What do ya think?" I asked. "Beautiful as ever." He said kissing my cheek.
I went red and looked away. Oh god. I put on my black stilettos and took my phone.
"So how do I look?" He asked. He was wearing a black, white and grey plaid button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a black tie and darker grey khakis. "Woah." I said smiling. He awkwardly posed and I started laughing.
"So we have about two hours till the dinner starts, what do you wanna do?" Nolan asked me.
"I kind of just wanna roam around the hotel." I said. "Good choice, cause so did I." He responded quickly.
Nolan and I continued to walk around. "Everyone was so nice today, back at the hometown, were they always like that? Or was it just an act of sympathy?" Nolan asked whole swinging his arm around me.
"Well they are always like that, but it's not bad that they're sympathetic." I said. "Dude, I love how they're actually turning my old house into an orphanage under my family name." I said grabbing onto Nolan's arm.
"I know right. That's sick." He said.
We walked up the stairs to the roof of the hotel which had a lot of people, it was a really cool pool and it was lighting up different colors like the pool back in California.
We went close to the edge of the building and sat down on a couch looking over all of the little towns. "Avalon, I gotta ask you something." Nolan said.
"What's up?" I asked. "If they ask you to go back and live in that orphanage, would you?" He asked.
We got up cause we were bored. I thought quietly as we walked back to our room. "I actually never thought about that." I said. "Well, would you?" He asked.
"I don't think so, like I might go and visit, but California's where you are, and where my sort of new family is, even though they all completely hate me right now." I said.
"Good." Nolan said. We walked back to our room and plopped down on the couch.
We sat and watched tv for a while. "Come on guys! Coach is waiting." Someone yelled. Nolan and I rushed out. "Damn." They all said as they saw me. I rolled my eyes.
"Is everyone here?" Coach asked. We checked all rooms then made our way down stairs to the huge outdoor diner on the golf course.
There was a rectangular table for each team, I sat on the end of the table. The host of the dinner then stepped up onto the stage.
"Hello teams of this years Storm Strike Tournament!" Everyone started to cheer and I awkwardly sat.
"Before we serve the food, I will call each team up one by one and they'll come up, lineup and raise their hand when their individual name is called. Age and position will be said aloud as well. Please hold your applause until every individual from the team is called." The host said.
Each team was called up one by one. I truthfully wasn't paying attention at all. I was pretty much just looked and thinking out in the distance. "Tronton Tornados."
Nolan nudged me out of my day dreaming. "Avalon, those are our rivals. We've always came second to them. Every year for the past four years." Nolan said.
All of their tuxes had their number and last name on the back, and a mini tornado on their top right shoulder. "Well let's beat the crap out of them this year." I said smiling.
My team looked at me and nodded to my idea. I then laughed and took a sip of my water.
Finally the "Brookville Blue Jays," were called up. I stood up and walked up with the team. Coach and I were last in the line since we were the coaches.
"Nolan Quinn, 18 years old, pitcher, right field, and third." The host said.
Nolan raised his arm and I smiled at him. I looked into the crowd and noticed that I was pretty much the only teen female. There were female coaches in their thirties and stuff but no 18 year old ones.
"Coach Micheal Stephen." Coach raised his hand and everyone clapped. "Woah woah. I didn't finish yet." The host said in a funny voice and flashed me a smile.
"Avalon Briggs, Co-Coach, also a substitute for any missing players. Plays all positions so guys you better watch out for this chick." The host said.
My team laughed, I rose my hand, and laughed along. "Substitute?" I asked as I looked at coach. He nodded and smiled.
Everyone else either over cheered or awkwardly cheered for me. But one team stood out to me. As we made it back to the table. I walked into this guy and fell over.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying at- Oh hey, it's you." I looked up to see the same guy from the airport. He lent out his arm and he helped me up.
"Sorry, it was my fault this time." I said laughing. "Yo Owen, let's go." One of his friends said.
"I gotta go, but see you soon I hope." "You too!" I yelled. I made my way back to my seat and the food was soon served.
After we ate everyone talked and other coaches went up and spoke to me. After that, my team made our way up to our suite.
I changed into my pajamas and jumped onto my bed. (A.k.a. the couch.)
I took my laptop and went on Netflix. This hotel is probably five star for the Wifi connection.
I went on and started my favorite movie... The Parent Trap.
Nolan sat next to me and put his arm around me. "Not tired?" He asked."Eh." I shrugged. "Well I'm going to watch with you." About thirty minutes in the movie, I passed and fell asleep.
