My eyes started to slowly open up. I woke up in a hospital. "Whats going on?" I asked.
Nolan stood up and rushed to my side. "Thank goodness you're awake." He said kissing my forehead.
"What happened? Where are we?" I asked. "We're back in California. At the tournament, you were knocked in the side of the head with a pitch, we came back home, Derek and them are at your place. After you got knocked out they kept you at the hospital and after a day we brought you back home. Owen threw some really good pitches while I was with you in the hospital, and you know Jordan hit that huge pitcher in the leg with a hit."
"Well did we win?" I asked. "Hah, yeah we did." He said laughing and taking a hold of my hand.
"When can I get back home?" I asked. "Tomorrow, and I'm gunna stay here with you." Nolan said to me smiling.
Someone knocked on the door, I looked over and it was Owen. "Hey." He said smiling and knocking on the door.
"Hey." I said. He walked in and placed a bouquet of flowers next to a bunch of other small gifts left by the team and a bunch of people from the tournament.
"Can I talk to you in private?" He said.
I nodded and Nolan kissed my forehead and left the room."So, how are you feeling?" Owen asked me. "Alright I guess, my head is pounding." I said.
"Well, I sort of came here to apologize. When I proposed to you, I took that a little too far. Like it was only five or six days ago where I met you, and I made you extremely uncomfortable. But do you wanna get married now?" Owen asked.
"Owen you don't understand do you? I'm only eighteen, getting engaged at this age may completely ruin my life. I'm not going to know how it feels to be a regular person, and I personally aren't ready for a commitment like that." I said while sitting up.
"Give me your phone." He said. I punched in my password and gave it to him. He deleted his contact and walked out. Nolan then walked in and sat next to me.
"What did he talk to you about?" Nolan asked. I sat quietly. "Lony, what did he talk to you about?"
"Well he asked me to marry him again, and I told him I wasn't ready for that, he then took my phone, deleted his contact and walked out." I said.
"Oh." Nolan said. I nodded. "Well I talked to the nurse, and told her that you're awake, and she said that the doctor just has to check if you're alright and then you could go home, alright? So I have to go get something back at my place, want anything?" Nolan asked. "No I'm fine."
I said smiling and shaking my head.He made his way out, stopped and popped his head back into my hospital room. "Hey, I love you." He said. "Love you too." I said smiling.
For about five minutes I sat in my hospital room looking out of the window. Someone walked in and it quickly got my attention. It was Margo.
"Hey babe! How was running? Again?" She asked with a smirk. "Margo, can you just leave?" I asked while rolling my eyes.
"See the thing is, I can... But since you want me to, I won't." She said laughing. She picked up a photo frame that had a pic of my family in it, that Nolan set next to my hospital bed.
"Oh this is your dead family, right?" She said smirking. I didn't look at Margo, I concentrated on what was out the window.
"See I 100% guarantee that if your sister was still alive, she would've grown up to be a slut." Margo said laughing. "Oh, then she's be following in your footsteps." I said under my breath.
"Yeah, what did you say?" Margo asked and smiled. "See and your brother, probably to grow up depressed and end up killing himself."
See now that's where it hit me. That line. "... and end up killing himself."
That's where it hurt me. I knew how it felt to want to kill myself. When my best friend and my only friend, moved across the country, I went into this entire depression stage, and I didn't get out of it for six years.
"Margo, you know, fuck you. You don't have a soul or a heart in your body. You are so cold hearted and so lonely that you pour out all your pain onto me, make me feel what you're feeling. But no, that's not going to happen. Because I know how to be confident in myself and I have a family who loves me." I said while staring at her.
"Oh, Avalon honey. Your family's dead." She laughed and threw the photo frame onto the ground, shattering the glass.
"No, we're right here." I looked behind Margo, and saw everyone. Jax, Morgan, Logan, Jack, Lily, Zack, Derek, even Eli, Mitch, and Thomas.
"Margo, it's best that you leave before you make us make you leave." Jax said. Margo laughed and walked away. "Let's go babe." She said while pulling Zack.
Zack looked at me. I looked at my hands and how much I was shaking. "Ok" He said. Margo looked at us and laughed. "You all are mental or something." She said then stormed out with Zack following her.
I looked around at everyone and they gathered around my hospital bed. "The Blue Jays are in the lobby, they're coming up here to give you something." Logan said.
A few seconds later, the team showed up with Nolan, my hospital room was packed. "Hey guys." I said smiling.
"Well, voted by both, judges, teams, and us, you are the MVP of this year's tournament, and team." Ryder said smiling.
"You showed us how it really felt to be a team, and because of you, this was our year." Henry said.
Mikey came up and handed me the trophy. "I love you guys." I said smiling and blushing.
About an hour later, everyone was gone, but Nolan. The doctor came in, checked me and then I left.
