I put on a white tube top with my blue jeans and a knitted cardigan over. I put on my old converse and reminisced as I looked at them.

"Avalon! Ready for the airport?" Officer Nicole yelled to me. "Yeah just putting my laptop in my carry on!"

I took the picture of my family, and shoved it into my backpack. Since I only had my backpack  and a small suitcase, I would be able to keep it next to me the entire flight.

I took my things and brought them outside, all the officers waved goodbye to me. Nicole gave me a hair brush since I forgot to buy one. I brushed my long straight hair out.

"So what we are going to do, is I'm going to fly with you to California. First class... I'm going to drive you to the house and check it out. My number and all my like ways to contact me are taped on to the suitcase. I left you $500 in your bag. Then I'm going to leave tonight and then yeah. Oh and also, all your families wealth, will be transferred into a card that an officer there will give to you sometime." She said shoving my bags into the back of her car.

"Sounds like a plan." I said getting into the shotgun.

When we got to the airport, we got in the first class like and waited to board. A few minutes later we boarded the plane and then took off.

Five hours and thirty minutes later the plane landed in California. As I stepped out of the plane I felt the California air hit me. "Have all your things?" Nicole asked me. I nodded.

Let's go get in a Taxi. "Seventh Street Hampton, please!" She said to the driver. "Alright, buckle up!" He said happily.

When we got to the street, Nicole pointed to a humongous white house. He stopped and we paid and got out.

This house was huge. It was like ten times bigger than my house: that was yet burned down. It was like one of those rich people houses you see in the movies... Like with those big chandeliers hanging right when you walk in. "Ready to meet you're new family?" I nodded with a deep exhale.

We stepped up to the front door and rang the door bell. A lady opened the door. I was glad because she seemed like a normal mom, she was dressed, with her hair brushed out, she seemed like she cared for herself which was a good sign. "Hey! You guys must be Officer Smith and Avalon Briggs." She said sticking her hand out for a shake. I shook it.

"Everyone come down now! Avalon's here!" She yelled. "I'm Michelle by the way." She said to me. As soon as I knew it a lot of kids started to run down stairs. They all sat on the floor in front of me. I saw 5 guys and 2 girls, all seemed younger than me.

"Everyone, this is Avalon, and Avalon, these are the kids. This is Mitch 12, Eli 7, Jack 15, Thomas 9, Logan 13, Morgan 13, Logan and Morgan are twins, and this is Lily she's 6." They all stood up and said hey. "Want to introduce yourself Avalon?" Michelle asked.

"I'm Avalon, and I'm 18." I said smiling. The littlest of them all, Lily, ran up to me and hugged me. I hugged her back.

"I have an other kid he's my actual son, he's 19, but he couldn't be here to greet you, he's at baseball right now." Michelle said to me.

"Okay cool." I said. "Jack, why don't you show Avalon to her room and officer why don't you come with me and have something to drink and we'll talk." Michelle said.

"Alright, let's go." He took my suitcase and brought it upstairs. I followed him. "So this is your room, sorry it's not the best, but you got the view of the beach, and it's a hell of a good view." Jack said opening the window. I laughed.

"No it's alright, it's- amazing." I said smiling in awe of the room in front of me. Only if they could see the view from my old attic window of my 60 year old neighbor tanning in his front yard.

"You have your own personal bathroom and it's right there, that's your walk in closet, and we put a desk there and a full body mirror right there. Sorry, I'm stating all of the obvious." He said laughing.

"No it's fine! What if I get tired and then like pee in my closet..." I said. He laughed and started to walk out of my room. "My room is the fourth door on the right. Our tutors come at 7-8 in the morning everyday except for weekends. We don't go to an actual school. If you need me, you know where to find me!" He said walking out of my room.

"Thanks Jack!" I yelled. "No problem!" He said shutting the door behind him.

"Everyone is actually nice here. I was worried about nothing." I said to myself. I started to unpack and about an hour later I finished unpacking. It was about 6 o'clock and it was still so bright outside. I walked downstairs and went to the kitchen.

"Hey Avalon, we are all going out to dinner today for your arrival! So at like 8, dress semi-formally!" Michelle said to me.

"Alright!" I said sitting next to Nicole. "So Nicole, when are you leaving?" I asked her. "After we redo your license." She said. "UGH NO! You're joking." I said hugging her.

"Nope. Michelle's going to drive us, and all you have to do is smile and get a picture taken." She said.

"YAY!" I yelled

We drove to a near by police station and got my picture retaken. Three hours later my license was ready. "And Avalon, I thought you would of liked something to put that in. Michelle handed me a really cute black wallet. "Thank you so much Michelle!" I said.

We drove to the airport after.

"Nicole I'm going to miss you." I said.
"I know Ava, I'm going to miss you too! But you have my number, Skype, email and everything like that." She said.

"Well I should actually go now so I don't miss my flight." She said. "Bye Nicole, ugh I'm going to miss you so much." I said squeezing her.

"Remember text me if you need me!" She yelled getting out of the car. I waved as we drove away.

A few minutes later, we got home. As I was walking back into the house while another car pulled into the drive way. It was probably Michelle's son. I walked back into the house and went to my room. I sat on the windowsill that was next to that amazing view window.

I sat and just thought... This is my life now.
