It was raining outside. Iniwan lang ni Carson si Coffee sa kwarto nang makatulog ang aso. Hindi nya alam kung nasaan si Theo. She heard him talking to someone on the phone when she was on her way upstairs. Baka nasa library ito at nagtatrabaho. Kaya naman pinili nyang umupo muna sa couch na nasa harapan ng malakas glass window. It was facing the huge backyard. It was her favorite spot. Madalas sila doon ni Theo tumambay, minsan para magkape habang nagkukwentuhan, madalas naman para lang humilata habang pilit na pinagkakasya ang katawan nilang dalawa sa couch.

Nasa ganoong pag-iisip ang dalaga nang maramdaman ang masuyong yakap mula kay Theo. Sumiksik ito sa kanya sa couch gaya ng madalas nitong gawin pagkatapos ay hinalikan ang gilid ng kanyang ulo. For a while, he didn't say anything. Tumanaw lang din ito sa labas ng malaking glass window habang sabay nilang pinapanood ang bawat patak ng ulan.

"You want to talk?" he asked.

Hindi sumagot si Carson. She wants to. But she didn't know how to without sounding like a nagging girlfriend.

"Love, your silence is killing me." He said kissing the top of her head. "I know you wanted to ask something."

Lalo lang nainis ang dalaga. He's aware of how she's going to react, but he never tells her anything. He knew she'll be upset but he kept on communicating with her.

"But it's not what you think." He continued.

Napairap si Carson sa narinig.

"I didn't know she would be there." Wika ulit ng binata. "Her dad was supposed to be the one attending the conference, but he was not feeling well. So, Bianca had to attend on behalf of him."

Bianca.

Even his way of saying that woman's name doesn't sound good.

"But you didn't tell me." Tiningnan nya ito ng masama. "If I didn't see the news, hindi ko pa malalaman. Because you never had the plan to let me know."

Theo heaved a sigh, as if surrendering. "I'm sorry. At that time, I didn't even think of her. All I want is to finish the conference as soon as possible so I could fly back home and see you."

Umirap ulit ang dalaga. "And now she's calling you. Bakit?"

He chuckled.

"Huwag na huwag mo akong tinatawanan. I'm asking you."

"Her father wanted to set a meeting. Pure business, love. Nothing more."

Hindi pa rin kumbinsido si Carson. If it's about the meeting, it's easy to contact Anj about that. Kahit naman kay Theo ito magsabi, ipapasa pa rin naman iyon ng binata sa secretary nito.

Umangat ang isang kamay ni Theo at marahang hinaplos ang pisngi nya. "Their company is very important to Lucent, love. And I owe so much from Tito Fernan. He helped me a lot when Lucent was just starting. Even when the company was in so much crisis and almost went bankrupt, he never let go. I cannot lose them."

Now guilt was eating her. Hindi naman nya sinasabing bitawan ni Theo ang Green Sun. She's a businesswoman, too. She knows how to value every client. She just hates Bianca and her antics. Pero anong magagawa nya? Kadikit ng babaeng iyon ang Green Sun at malabong hindi magkrus ang landas nito at ni Theo.

Bumuntong hininga si Carson at nilingon ng binata.

"Will you forgive me?" he asked.

How could she not? Tingin pa lang nito nalulusaw na sya. Napakaunfair.

She nodded. That made Theo smile. He leaned closer and claimed her lips for a quick kiss.

"When something bothers you, please ask." Sabi nito. "I don't know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours. So please tell me anything, okay? Your silence will kill me."
