~ ariana grande and the weeknd, off the tableThe last time Lydia had been on a plane, she was coming home from travelling Europe, but it wasn't for a vacation. She was young, about nine or ten. It was soon after she had her surgery. As soon as she was cleared to fly, her parents took her to go see other doctors to try to figure out why she was still look. She didn't feel sick after the surgery, in fact, she felt better than she ever had, but her parents kept insisting she was still ill. The doctors she went to see were never in offices or clinics, it was always at their homes and they never seemed like the doctors Lydia had seen before, she now knew that they weren't doctors and the reason she didn't feel ill was because she wasn't. Her parents were trying to find a way to prevent her powers from developing.
This time, Lydia was travelling on a much happier note because her loving boyfriend was with her. They discussed a loose plan before they left. They arrived in Spain and would spend a few days there as Kol got the exact location of the person he knew who he thought could help. Afterwards, they would spend some time travelling, wherever they wanted to go. This type of behaviour was new to Lydia, she typically wasn't so free, she liked to have a plan and she would have never randomly decided to leave in the middle of the school year, but with Kol, she didn't worry about the unknown.
"We are not going back for at least six months because there is no way I am shoving myself into that tiny box again," Kol announced as he pushed open the door to the hotel room they were staying in.
"Yes, the private jet was so cramped," Lydia teased him. Of course flying across the Atlantic with a bunch of other people wasn't the ideal scenario for Kol. Not that Lydia was complaining. She didn't mind not sitting in a cramped seat with a hundred other people and not being served regular airplane food.
"Make fun of me all you want, but at least I did not grip the armrest every time there was a slight bump," Kol shot back playfully as they stepped into the hotel room.
"If humans were meant to be thirty thousand feet in the air, we would've been born with wings," Lydia defended herself.
"Neither of us are human, darling," Kol reminded her.
"And we still don't have wings," Lydia responded with a slight nod of her head."See my point?"
Kol chuckled and took Lydia's hand into his, pulling her into the room along with him."Sure, Angel. Is there anything you are not afraid of?"
"I pretty much cover all standard fears," Lydia shrugged her shoulders."Heights, bugs, lightning, clowns, sharks-"
"Why does none of that surprise me?" Kol asked himself which caused Lydia to giggle slightly as Kol closed the door behind her.
