Lydia stared ahead into the darkness, unable to see anything other than the flurries that fell from the sky and onto the ground, a few landing atop of her. When she arrived at the bridge, Lydia had cleaned out a spot for her so sit since it was covered in snow. It was still a bit wet and uncomfortable, but Lydia couldn't focus on that. She didn't get as much time alone to think as she would like. She was fairly certain that when she left, she wouldn't be followed by anyone and anyone who cared enough to follow her wouldn't know where she was going. Only Kol knew that she came to the bridge when she was upset and Kol wouldn't follow her.

At least that was what she thought.

After just a few minutes alone, she heard the bridge begin to creak as someone stepped onto it, their footsteps growing closer and closer until they were right beside her. Then, they slowly lowered themselves down onto the ground until their shoulders brushed up against each other. If this has happened to her a year ago, Lydia would've jumped up already, her heart would race as she feared whatever had approached her. But Lydia was a lot stronger now than she was before. And she knew who it was, even though she wanted to be wrong.

Lydia had mostly avoided Kol up until now and she wanted to keep it that way. She was friends with his family and he didn't seem to have a problem with that, but that friendship didn't extend to Kol. When he spoke to her the way he did, both their friendship and romantic relationship ended. Lydia was lenient because she knew that Kol had just gotten his memories back at the time and was overwhelmed with what he had gone through, but she didn't think she could handle being friends with Kol. Not the way they once were.

Kol didn't say anything after he sat down. Lydia didn't know if it was because he was waiting for her to say something or if it was just because he wanted to sit down on the bridge. Then something odd happened. Kol still didn't say anything, that much was true, but soon, Lydia could hear him trying to hide laughter that began to escape his lips.

Lydia snapped her head to the side to look at him, noticing that he was trying to hide a grin on his face, which only angered her. Still, there was still a small pang in her heart as she got a sense of déjà vu, recalling the days that they sat in the same spot and the evening was filled with nothing but laughter between the two. She couldn't remember the last time she heard him laugh. She missed it. Right now, however, it was irritating her because not one thing that happened was amusing."What the hell are you laughing at?"

This only caused Kol to laugh without trying to hide it this time while shaking his head and peering up at Lydia."Y-you set the envelope on fire."

"And how is that funny?" Lydia huffed in annoyance.
