The Mikaelsons had witnessed more than their share of horrid acts. They have lost people they loved countless times. None was worse than this. Having the head of their youngest sister kicked towards them like a soccer ball was never something they expected to see. They knew that it was possible that their clocks might run out eventually after ticking for so long. Finn was killed. Kol and Klaus just barely survived. Because of Lydia. Lydia jumped in front of Kol to save him and Lydia turned on her sister and friends to tell Rebekah and Elijah where Klaus' body was. Now she was the one responsible for one of their deaths.

For as long as they've known Lydia, she had been nothing but loving to them. She never judged them and she never showed any inclination that she would wish to see them in pain. She would squirm at the mentioning of what happened to Rebekah. That was before. The Lydia they knew now was dark and twisted. It had seemed that when they officially welcomed her to the family, she dug out the worst part of herself to match with them. The only difference was none of this meant anything to Lydia. She didn't hesitate to hurt them, she didn't care who got hurt. But they did.

They knew that if Lydia didn't turn it back on soon she would destroy any form of her past self and any hope that she wouldn't be alone. She was a devastating threat and one that they didn't know how to handle. If she turned it back on, she would be overwhelmed by guilt and arguably, she could insist that it wasn't really her. It might've not been her mind that made the decision, but her hands still committed the act.

None of them were more confused than Kol. Kol didn't think that it was possible for him to fall out of love with Lydia. That never bothered him up until now. Up until now, Lydia had never hurt him. He wanted to help her and get her back to who she once was, but after this, things would never be the same. He wouldn't be able to look at her without seeing the reason that Rebekah was no longer here. She wouldn't be welcomed in New Orleans or at the Manor. He would no doubt drift away from his family if he chose Lydia. Could he even choose Lydia? He was getting ahead of himself. All of this wasn't what he had to worry about. His sister was dead. Lydia killed her. That's what he had to focus on. But he couldn't. He had to get Lydia back, not just for him, but for all of them. She needed to be stopped.

After Lydia left, Klaus and Elijah did too. He had no clue where they went and he didn't ask. He was too shocked to focus on anything else. He just went back to the hotel room and sat down on the couch, where he had just been hours before. With Rebekah by his side. Caroline had come and sit with Kol for a little bit, but she didn't say anything to him. She just sat next to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. He just needed some time to think, but time was the one thing he didn't have. With each second he waited, was another second Lydia was losing herself. Or planning to hurt someone. All the peace and quiet in the world wasn't going to help Kol figure this out. Even still, he did want that peace and quiet, but he should've known that he wouldn't get it for very long.
