question of the chapter: what do you think kol and lydia's wedding would look like/what do you want it to look like?Lydia didn't think that she was worthy of Damon's nickname for her. Starry Eyes, when she didn't seem too optimistic about anything at the moment. She thought she would be when Bonnie concluded that someone else was in the prison world with them and that she was right. Someone else filled in the crossword puzzle. Not her. Not Bonnie or Damon. Someone else filled it in. It had to be Kai, which meant that Lydia wasn't losing her mind and there was someone else there. Damon didn't seem to think so though.
Then when she thought there was a possibility of contacting Kol, she was hopeful. She wanted nothing more than to talk to him, and she thought she had a chance. She tried her hardest to reach him that night. She tried to remember everything Silas taught her about breaking into people's minds. But she couldn't do it. She couldn't reach him. She even tried to fall asleep and contact him that way, as that was how she did it before. But nothing. Which meant they were back to where they started. Having no way out of this place, and Lydia was still no longer a psychic.
Lydia could barely pay attention to Bonnie and Damon as they walked through the aisle of a grocery store, arguing in front of Lydia. She wasn't paying attention to what they were saying, too focused on her own thoughts, but their bickering was getting on her last nerve.
"If you two want to continue acting like children, maybe we should swing by the toy section," Lydia snapped at them, shutting them both up, thankfully, but only for a moment.
"Then tell her that I can push the cart!" Damon exclaimed suddenly, causing Lydia to roll her eyes while Bonnie just let go of the cart.
"We need strawberries," Bonnie announced as they continued to walk down the aisle, Damon mumbling an agreement as Lydia continued to listen to Bonnie who mentioned candles.
"I know it's been awhile, but you couldn't do magic as an anchor, so I'm curious what momentary lapse reason makes you think you can do it now? Damon asked bitterly. He hadn't really held out hope that Bonnie would get her magic back.
"Do you always have to be so negative?" Lydia scoffed at him."You're the one who kept insisting that we both learn how to use our powers again."
"Which you failed at doing," Damon reminded her.
"I don't exactly see you trying to do anything," Lydia snapped at him."Other than making terrible pancakes and being an ass to everyone."
Over the last few weeks, Lydia and Damon had gotten along for the most part. Lydia hadn't forgiven him for all that he did, but she would rather be civil with him for now, considering he was one of the only two people Lydia could talk to.
