question of the chapter: are you planning on reading/checking out my klaus fanfic when i upload it? obviously you do not have to and i don't expect any of you to read it. i'm just curious about who will be following me over when this fanfic is finished.

Lydia was surprised that she was actually a bit excited to get back home when Rae pulled into the driveway. She was happy to be back with her friends, and Bubbles, and to get back to her bedroom that she had decorated just the way she wanted it. She missed Kol, saying goodbye to him was difficult. When they hugged goodbye at the airport, Lydia didn't want to let him go. But she knew that she could continue to do what she was doing at school, and Kol would be supporting her. Even if it was all the way from New Orleans.

"Um, why is there a guy on our porch?" Rae asked, noticing someone standing in front of their door, ringing the doorbell. Lydia didn't recognize who it was either. All she could see was a black hoodie and a pair of jeans. She didn't know who that could've been. Stefan had a key, so he could have just let himself in. Even if he didn't, he always asked if he could come over if it wasn't an emergency. Aside from Stefan, Lydia didn't have any other guy friends.

"I have no idea," Lydia narrowed her eyes at them as Rae stopped the car. Lydia was quick to jump out of the car, getting ready to scare off whoever it was that was waiting for them, but just as Lydia got to the porch, the person that it was turned around to face her, showing their face.

"Jeremy," The name left Lydia's lips before she was even able to think about it. It was a shock to see him. She never would've guessed that he would show up on her front porch. Lydia hadn't seen Jeremy since the Christmas Eve before she turned. He hadn't reached out to her once. And as far as Lydia knew, he never helped her friends try to find her either. They hadn't had a relationship in years. Sometimes, Lydia even forgot about him. She didn't intentionally push him out of her life, but he made it clear where they stood back when he stuck a stake through her heart.

"Hey, Lydia," Jeremy greeted her awkwardly, which Lydia couldn't blame him for. Though she hoped that he would have a bit more confidence, seeing as he was the one who came to her."How are you?"

"What are you doing here?" She asked immediately. She knew that if he was here, there had to be a reason. People didn't cut their siblings off, disappear for two years, and then show up on their front porch. Her first thought went to Elena, that something was wrong, seeing as that was the only person that kept them connected in any way.

"I heard you were back in town," Jeremy said with a small nod of his head, as if that were to explain everything. It didn't.

"I've been here for almost two months," Lydia reminded him, noticing Rae walk up behind her."Why now?"
