Lydia wasn't surprised that the second Klaus found her, she was being dragged back into the Mikaelson Manor. She should've known they wouldn't leave her alone since she was so adamant about giving herself over to Silas to do god knows what. The whole way back Klaus didn't say a word to her as he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the living room, only letting go when they entered and Lydia was quick to throw herself down onto the couch, huffing in annoyance.
"I thought you left," Lydia sighed as she crossed her arms in front of her chest and narrowed her eyes at Klaus who didn't look amused in the slightest.
"And my absence would allow you to barter yourself off to Silas?" Klaus scoffed as if it was the most preposterous thing he ever heard.
"It's my choice," Lydia tried to defend herself, watching as Klaus poured himself a glass of whiskey from the small drink cart that was next to the couch. He offered some to Lydia but she just shook her head.
"Since it conflicts with your safety, I have taken it upon myself to revoke your freedom," Klaus replies as he sipped his drink, causing Lydia to roll her eyes and toss her head back."You have failed to operate in your best interest, which means that I have to."
"And what about Kol's best best interest?" Lydia shot back, surprised that Klaus didn't see it like she did. Kol was the one who needed their help at the moment.
"Kol is alive," Klaus sighed as he sat down next to Lydia."I know that this is hard for you, but Kol is still here. If we hand you to Silas, you may not be. And Kol would be the one raising hell on Earth if I let you walk over to that man."
"I understand that," Lydia reminded him."But it's not just Kol. Silas threatened that he would hurt other people that I love. I just want to keep the people that I love safe."
"Unfortunately for you, when you live under my roof what you want is trumped by what I want," Klaus smirked at her which caused Lydia to roll her eyes again. She couldn't believe he was playing the "my house my rules" card which she hadn't heard since before her parents died.
"Then maybe I'll just move out," Lydia shrugged her shoulders even though they were both well aware that Lydia wasn't going anywhere."I know that you're trying to keep me safe. I get that. I do. But I have to keep people safe too. And you can't honestly tell me you can protect everyone I love from Silas."
Klaus took a deep breath as he reached forward and sat the glass down on the coffee table before turning to face Lydia. He was silent for a moment, thinking about the best way to help convince her that she shouldn't do what Silas wants. What exactly he wanted they still didn't even know.
Lydia found it odd that she wasn't uncomfortable with Klaus being this close to her. While the two of them weren't best friends, or even friends, their relationship had grown a bit these past few weeks and it was now to the point where Lydia didn't feel anxious being with just only him and began to see bits of the Klaus she knew before she learned about what happened to Jenna.
