When Lydia's eyes opened the next morning, she had decided that this was her absolute favourite way to wake up. With warm sunlight shining down on her skin, thinking about how perfect her night had been and with her head resting on Kol's bare chest as she cuddled next to him. She glanced up at Kol who appeared to be sleeping still, exhaling softly every few seconds. A smile graced her lips as she gazed at him, thinking about the night they had shared and how lucky she was to have someone like Kol in her life. The love she had for him almost felt surreal, she never thought it possible to love someone this strongly but when she was with him he just consumed her every thought, she couldn't escape him and she didn't want to.

"If you wanted to stare at my face you should have just stayed asleep because I am sure I'm the man of your dreams," Kol suddenly spoke but he didn't bother to open her eyes.

Lydia breathed out a laugh and shook her head while Kol opened his eyes to look down at his beautiful girlfriend."How long did it take you to come up with that one?"

Kol smiled at her softly and leaned forward a bit so that he could press a soft kiss against her lips."You were alright with what we did, yes?" Kol asked randomly, causing Lydia to smile and nod her head. Of course Kol was going to ask her again.

"Yes, I told you Kol," Lydia mumbled quietly."I love you. And I trust you. More than anyone."

"And you were alright with everything?" Kol continued as if he didn't ask her that question like fifteen times last night."Vampires can be. . . Rough."

"I'm fine," Lydia giggled again, leaning forward and pressing a kiss against his cheek, finding how concerned he was with what she was okay with kind of cute."Last night was great, okay? And it was the perfect first time."

"First time?" Kol repeated hesitantly.

"I have made the decision to not consider Jace my first time," Lydia admitted slowly."Or even my first boyfriend. It wasn't really sex and he wasn't a real boyfriend anyways and I don't think he's deserving of being my first anything. You are."

Kol found himself smiling down at Lydia, there was nothing that warmed his heart more than hearing how she loved being with him. He was worried he wouldn't be a great boyfriend since he really hadn't done it before. He was worried he wouldn't be able to be what she needed, but with Lydia every worry seemed to fade away.

"I love you, Angel," Kol spoke quietly, leaning forward and kissing the top of her head."And I always will."

"Well, don't get sappy on me, Kol Mikaelson," Lydia teased with a large grin, causing Kol to chuckle and shake his head. Something about Lydia seemed a bit different. He didn't comment on it because he didn't want her to feel uncomfortable, but it seemed like she was brighter, filled with more energy and light. Kol wasn't sure what was responsible for that change in behaviour, but he admired it. She looked absolutely perfect to him. The way the sun caused her skin to appear like it was glowing and her hair was lighter, but still none of it was brighter than her smile. She was genuinely happy and Kol didn't want anything less for her.
