question of the chapter: do you think lydia and freya would like each other?

Lydia held onto Kol's hand with hers as they walked down the path together. She could hardly hear him, but she knew what he wanted. The sound of people screaming and machine bells going off every few seconds was loud in her ear, but it was fun. Lydia hadn't been to an amusement park in forever. Not since before she was diagnosed with a heart condition. She wasn't allowed to go on roller coasters and she couldn't eat any of the junk food. Watching everyone else have fun only made her want to cry, so she stopped going when her family or friends would go. Now, Lydia knew that she was fine. She could do these things. And there was no one she wanted to do them with more than Kol.

Kol had been determined to make sure Lydia did every single thing she was told she couldn't do. She had made a list a while back when she found out she was healthy. Kol found the list and decided that they would do everything on it. Together. Sometimes, Lydia thought that he was more excited to get the chance to do certain things than she was. Like right now as he looked around excitedly at what there was to do. They already ate some sweets, played some games, and went on almost every single ride. Except for one.

"There's no way I'm stepping foot on that ride," Lydia reminded him as they continued to walk towards the giant claw attached to a stick that swung people around. The whole thing made Lydia feel uneasy. Kol, on the other hand, thought it was the coolest thing he'd seen since he was undaggered.

"And why not?" He inquired, though he already knew the answer."I am sure that it is perfectly safe. You said it yourself, it is rare that something happens."

"Rare doesn't mean it does happen," Lydia defended herself."If a ride only has an accident one in two million times, someone has to be that one!"

"Look at all those people who are lining up to go on it," Kol nodded towards the line where there were multiple people waiting to get on."And you went on all of those other rides."

"Yeah, but this one looks like one loose screw will send the arm flying off into the water," Lydia pointed towards the large river that was past the ride and surrounded the amusement park, causing Kol to laugh.

"Darling, so you think I would ever let you get hurt?" He raised his eyebrow, glancing down at her.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that I was dating a superhero who's capable of flying out of his seat to catch the arm midair," Lydia replied sarcastically.

"Well, I do believe I'd be strong enough to catch it," Kol shrugged, sounding confident in his abilities as an Original Vampire, but Lydia didn't buy it.
