Chapter 64

Matt's POV: After finishing up with lunch, I smiled as I looked at Gabby and went to help her up off my bed. Grabbing her hand, I smiled while looking at her and intertwining our fingers so that we could get out of here. I then went to grab our plates and smiled at her. "You just want to head home or do you want to take a drive around the city for a bit? If you need to clear your head...then I will gladly just drive you around town and we can listen to some music." Gabby then shook her head when I suggested that. Stepping close to me, she went to kiss me softly.

Feeling her hands on my chest, I went to grab one of them and just rubbed her arm. "You want to just head out of here don't you?" Gabby nodded and agreed with me. "Yeah. I know staying home isn't the best thing but..." I then shook my head and whispered to her. "Gabby just relax and calm down okay? You can always ask me to take you home. If that's what you need for a healthy pregnancy, then we can stay home as much as you want. So do me a favor, take a breath and just relax for me okay babe?" Gabby nodded when I said that.

Going to grab both of our plates, I then went to kiss her quickly before grabbing her hand and intertwining our fingers. Leading her out of my office, I smiled when I saw Severide sitting there with Stella. Popping my head in, I looked at him. "We are headed back to the apartment. We're probably just going to relax in bed. If you want to come home, go ahead." Severide nodded and agreed. "That was the plan, I want to hang out with you guys for Christmas later." Gabby then looked at him. "We can do a movie night together. Christmas movies?"

I then nodded when she said that. However, Severide wasn't buying it. "You totally don't want us living with you don't you Matt." I then laughed. "I'm fine with it guys. Me and Gabby are going to be moving out in the new year." Stella then looked at us. "You are?" Gabby nodded. "Yeah, I think it's for the best. We need a real home that's close to the firehouse. And I want a two story home so that we can have a place to relax together without waking up the baby." Severide nodded and agreed. "Then can you sign over the lease to me? It's your lease still."

I nodded and agreed with him. "When we move out, we will talk to our landlord and get him to do that. I promise." Severide smiled when I said that. "Thanks man." I then smiled when he said that. "So Christmas movies later?" Stella nodded and agreed. "Yeah, I need time to talk to my girl." Severide laughed when she said that. "Yeah, between them making out." I laughed when he said that. "Hey, not my fault that she has pregnancy hormones." Gabby then looked at me and shook her head. "We are heading home. I am going to say goodbye. See you in the car."

Gabby then walked away from me, obviously not impressed. I then stared at Severide. "You are the reason she did that. If you didn't bring up our make outs, I wouldn't have said the hormone part." Severide shook his head. "Do not blame me for that man. You are the one that said it. Dude, and she's your wife. You know how she is." I then shrugged because he was right. Walking away, I went to find Gabby so that we can head home. "Gabby!" Gabby was currently in the common room saying goodbye to everybody. "I'll be back in the new year. Just need rest."

Hermann then got up and looked at her. "Oh, you are coming to the New Year's Eve party at Molly's. That is not an option missy." Gabby laughed when he said that. "By the way, I am going to be working there more. Can you figure out what we need to do to get the restaurant open during the day?" Cindy then smiled. "I am already doing it during the day. I'd love the help." Gabby smiled and agreed with her. "Then you can see me there whenever Matt has shift." I then looked at her. "And then she'll come here overnight." Gabby smiled and nodded.

"Listen, we are going to head home guys. I am tired because of the pregnancy." Cindy nodded and agreed. "If you guys ever need any help during the pregnancy or when the baby is born, just let me know okay? I love to help with babies." Gabby smiled and nodded when she said that. "I am going to take that into consideration. I mean, you were such a great help with Louie." Cindy nodded and agreed with me. "And I will be to that baby." Gabby then smiled. "Babies I think."

Cindy smiled. "You think it's twins?" We both nodded when she said that. "Yeah, she's bigger than what's normal for 4 weeks." Cindy nodded when I said that. "Oh definitely, I can see the possibility now. But listen, you go home. Merry Christmas again." We both smiled and agreed with her when she said that. "Merry Christmas Hermann, see you in the new year." We all agreed and nodded when she said that. Once we were done saying goodbye, we walked outside.

Walking onto the apparatus floor, Gabby looked at the Ambo and smiled as she went to rub Shay's name. She then saw it was pealing and she sighed. "Boden needs to fix this." Boden then walked over to us. "You leaving?" Gabby nodded. "Getting tired. Can you get them to fix this though?" Boden then looked at it and nodded. "Of course Gabby. Merry Christmas to you both and see you in the new year Matt." Matt nodded and smiled. "Gabby will be here too." Boden agreed and smiled. "Can't wait. Maybe you can help me as a receptionist on Matt's shifts? I haven't found anybody since Connie left." Gabby smiled and agreed. "That sounds great. Thanks chief."

Boden smiled and agreed. "See you in the new year." We both nodded and agreed when he said that. Walking out, I smiled at Gabby. "Great day and a new job that guarantees you will be at the firehouse on my shifts." Gabby laughed when I said that. "Like I wasn't already going to be here." I nodded and agreed with her when she said that, ready to take her home so she could rest.
