"What is going on?" you asked as you stepped out of the car, the car in front of you had just stopped. Maria stepped out of the passenger side of the car.

You went over to the window to find no one there. You looked over at Maria to come look so you weren't imagining. But you didn't imagine that no one was there as Maria didn't see anyone either. You shared a look before you started to see people fading.

"Maria..." you whispered and she noticed it too. You looked over your shoulder to see more people fading.

"Y/N..." you heard and turned to Maria. She was fading.

"No. No no no, Maria!" you said and got a hold of her face, tears threatening to fall from both yours and her eyes.

"I love you," she said before she was gone. The tears fell from your eyes. You didn't felt yourself fade and got over to the car and got your phone, hoping at least one of the Avengers was not faded. You called Natasha and the phone dialed a few minutes before she picked up.

"Y/N, hey are you okay?" she asked. You could hear that something was wrong with her too.

"Nat...Maria...She-she's gone. She faded! What is going on?" you said and the phone went silent. "Nat?"

"Thanos snapped," she said. You got quiet. "Y/N? Are you still there?"

"I'm here. Where is that bastard I'm going to kill him," you said, forming a ball with your fist.

"We're taking care of it. Get to the compound and we'll be there as soon as possible," she said.

Five years later ✌🏼😁

You sat in the main area in the compound with Natasha who was on a hologram meeting with Okoye, Carol, Rocket, Nebula and Rhodes while cutting a peanut butter sandwich in half. She looked like she hadn't been sleeping in days.

While they were talking you couldn't stop thinking about Maria. It had gone five years and yet you still missed her. You got out of your thoughts when you heard someone breathe heavily.

"You know, I'd offer to cook you dinner..." you heard and looked up to see Steve. "but you seem pretty miserable already,"

"You here to do your laundry?" you asked.

"And to see two friends," he said.

"Clearly your friends are fine," Natasha said, looking at him.

"You know, I saw a pod of whales when I was coming over the bridge," he said.

"In the Hudson?" Natasha asked pretty quickly.

"There's fewer ships. Cleaner water,"

"You know if you're about to tell us to look on the bright side," you said and looked over at Natasha.

"I'm about to hit you in a head with a peanut butter sandwich," she finished and you chuckled a bit but it died pretty quickly.

"How are you two holding up?" he asked before sitting down on a chair.

"I miss Maria. I cant even describe it. It's been five years but um...it's still hard going to bed and she's not there nor when you wake up. She is my everything..." you said but whispered the last part. You felt something stroke your back and you saw Natasha give you a sad look. It was obvious that she missed Maria too but not only her though.

"We'll get her back Y/N. And everyone else. I promise," Natasha said and Steve nodded in agreement.

Time skip to after the Vormir scene otherwise imma cry

When you all came back. You looked over at Clint who fell onto his knees. You looked around you but didn't see any Natasha.

"Clint where is Nat?" Bruce asked. Clint didn't say anything. Everyone was starting to realize, even you.

"Don't tell me...no...not Nat too," you said, tears welling up in your eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N," Clint said and you shook your head, running out of the room. Everyone was calling out for you but you didn't listen. When you got to your room, you shut the door and locked it as you fell onto your knees. First Maria and now Natasha. Your girlfriend and best friend were gone.

You and Natasha had been there for each other since she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. You were the one to help her with her training and you were the one she turned to when she needed help. She helped you when you had trouble confessing your feelings for Maria.

"We'll be there for each other. Forever. No matter what. Promise?"

"I promise, Nat,"

Time Skip

While the remaining Avengers fought Thanos, you sat your room. You hadn't come out since you found out that Natasha was dead. You were listening to the songs you and Maria would always listen to.

You saw something orange looking in front of you. Like those that Dr Strange would do. (Idk what it's called forgive me) You sat still but your breath caught in your throat when you saw who stepped out.

"Maria?" you said and she looked at you as you stood up from the bed. "I-Is it really you?"

"Y/N..." she whispered. Your hand flew up to your mouth as tears fell from your eyes before you ran over to her and you both hugged each other tightly.

"I-I thought I lost you," you stuttered and Maria stroked the back of your head as she shushed you. "I missed you so much..."

"I missed you too, hun," she said, still stoking your head. Once the two of you pulled away, she cupped your face, looking into your e/c eyes while you were looking into her blue ones.
