Maria was waiting impatiently for you at a Stark party. Everyone was quite surprised to the fact that Nick Fury was there. You weren't, you made him go. There wasn't that many people at the party. The main 6 Avengers, Maria, you, Rhodes, Sam, Wanda, Vision, Skye, Melinda May, Grant Ward, Nick Fury, and Phil Coulson.

Back to Maria waiting for you. She was waiting for you to come back from the bathroom. She looked over at Fury, that stood beside her, as he looked at her.

"Don't worry about it. She'll come out from there soon," he said and Maria nodded.

As if on cue, everyone heard loud footsteps, as if someone was running. It caught everyone's attention as they looked over and saw you running. You had tears in your eyes as you looked around the room for Maria. When you spotted her, you ran over to her. She opened her arms and wrapped them around you as you hid your face in her chest.

"Hey, hey. Sweetheart, I need you to breathe," she whispered as she rubbed your back soothingly. She slowly pulled away from you and held your face in her hands as she wiped your tears with her thumbs. "What's going on?"

Everyone looked over at you worryingly as the waited for you to reply.

"W-Ward...he-he tried to t-touch me," you sobbed.

"I'm gonna kill him," Maria said immediately and pulled away from you and was about to walk away but you quickly got a hold of her again.

"No! No, please don't go. Don't leave, please..." you pleaded, tears streaming down your cheeks. Maria looked at you sadly and wrapped her arms around you.

"Romanoff, May," Fury said in a stern tone and looked over at them.

"On it," Melinda replied.

"I'm gonna kill him," Natasha muttered as they walked over to where the bathroom was.

Skye walked over to you and rubbed your shoulder in a comforting manner. She looked up at Maria who gave her a nod. She slowly unwrapped her arms around you and caressed your cheek.

"Stay here with Skye, I'll be right back," she said and kissed your forehead. You sniffed as Maria followed Melinda and Natasha whilst Skye wrapped her arm around you and rubbed your arm.

"Y/N, honey," you heard and looked up at Fury.

"I'm scared dad..." you whimpered and he looked at you sadly.

Not long after, Maria came back with blood stained hands. Natasha and Melinda was not far behind, holding Ward in his arms. His right eye was closed, his nose looked broken and he had a busted lip.

You saw in the corner of your eye how Wanda's eyes glowed red, her hands balled into fists and they were glowing red.

"I hope you learned your lesson not to touch someone without their consent, Ward," Coulson said and looked at him with disappointment in his face.

"She wanted to be touched," Ward said and Fury shook his head.

"If she wanted to be touched, she wouldn't have ran in here with tears in her eyes," Clint sternly said.

"Get him out of my tower," Tony said. Natasha nodded and her and May started to drag Ward towards the elevator.

Skye let go of you as Maria walked over and wrapped her arms around you. "It's okay, my love. He's gone now. Want to go to your room?"

You nodded your head at her. Maria said goodnight to everyone. Fury came over to you and hugged you. Not a sight that you'd see often but you were his daughter, even if you were adopted, and he loved you.

"I'm really sorry for tonight Y/N. I'll make sure he gets the punishment he deserves for doing that to you," he said and rubbed your back.

"It's okay, dad. I'll be okay," you said and pulled away. He nodded his head and planted a kiss on your forehead.

"Come on," Maria whispered and took a hold of your hand. She led you towards your room.

Once you got inside, you played with the rings on your fingers. Maria took notice in it and grabbed both of your hands.

"It's okay. He's not going near you again," she whispered and you nodded. "Can I take your dress off, so you can get changed?"

You nodded your head and turned around, moving your hair out of the way (if you have longer hair) so Maria could unzip the zipper. She grabbed your pjs and helped you put it on.

You both climbed into the bed under the covers as she held you, and rubbed your back with one hand and gently petted your hair with the other to make you fall asleep more easily.

"I love you, Y/N. I won't let anyone touch you like that again," Maria whispered when you had fallen asleep before she fell into a deep slumber herself.
