Margaux's

"What? You all said that if I stayed here, I can decide for my own." Dad looked at the papers in front of him. Can we just eat first before arguing?

"Miguel, Pasig University is a good university. Margaux did well in her first year on Australia, I'm sure she can enter Pasig Universitya and do good." She looked at me and smiled, with that, I looked away. Why is she doing this? I hate how she always try to be Mom. You can never be Mom.

"No Rian. She's just doing this because she's rebelling. I told you, you'll go to the same university with your cousin." Uminom siya ng tubig at tumayo.

"You cannot decide for me this time, Dad." Sambit ko nang nakatingin lang sa plato ko.

"What did you say?"

"I already said I don't want to be here but look, I have no choice. I said I don't want to be like you, but what did I do?" I looked at the papers in front of him. I could have shifted to other course but the way I can't totally disobey him made me choose Engineering at all cost.

"Just let me decide for this one, Dad. I want a different life. I want to do something of my choice, just this time." I was half pleading. Tita Rian held his hand and I heard him sighed.

"Don't embarrass me by failing the entrance exam, Margaux." My face lightened by hearing his words.

Is he agreeing?

"Don't blame me of the consequences. That university isn't the same as other schools where you have been." He added.

I know. That's why I chose it. Kuya Jake said that it's hard to enter that uni and it's far more academically demanding compared to others. I did pretty well when I Australia in my first year of college but I want to try something of different level.

Tita Rian smiled at me the moment Dad left. Iniwas ko lang ang tingin ko at nagpatuloy na kumain. I immediately went outside the parking after eating. I can't be late for the exam.

Technically, I am a transferee, second year, but I still need to take the entrance exam as the freshmen. Yeah, pretty cool admission rule.

"Kuya Jake!" I ran and hugged him. I heard him chuckled . I called her 'Kuya' because of our one day age gap.

"Hey." He uttered and looked at my face. "My fave cousin."

"The one and only." Kumindat pa ako. I missed him. It's been only a year mula nung umalis siya sa Australia.

"I've heard you don't want to be with me." Umarte siyang parang nagtatampo.

"It's not it, Kuya!" Pagdepensa ko. Tumawa lang siya ulit at umiling.

"Yeah, I got it. I am happy Tito Miguel agreed." Sagot niya.

I just shrugged my shoulders.

"You'll be late. Let's go?" Napansin ko yung kotse niya sa parking.

"So supportive." Siniko ko siya nang bahagya.

"Of course, for my fave one." Sumakay na ako sa loob.

"My friend from SPC will transfer to Pasig U too." He stared driving. "All of you want to leave me." Natawa naman ako kasi ang arte niya.

"Because you can't speak Filo." Pang-aasar ko. Sumimangot naman siya.

"You're mayabang." This time hindi ko na napagilan na tumawa. Lalo naman siyang sumimangot.
