I grabbed a spoonful of ice cream and snuggled closer to my mom. We were both tucked in a blanket, staring at our television. It was raining outside and I had a cup of ice cream in my hand which made me feel colder. It didn't bother me because I enjoy my favorite food. We heard a loud knock from our main door. It sounded scary, especially when we just watched a horror movie a while ago.

"Mom, I'm going to open the door." I jumped out of my seat.

My mother looked afraid, but I was too young to notice that. "No, sweetheart. Come here." I walked near her.

"What is it mom?"

She didn't answer, instead, she held my hand and started walking.

She took me to our basement. It's located under our table and it is covered with a carpet. It's full of box and old stuffs but I always wanted to be here because when you enter, there is a large screen with different angles of the house, even outside. It's a cool place.

"Sweetheart, remember that mommy loves you very much." She cupped my cheeks and looked straight into my eyes. "Take care of yourself. Trust someone that is trust worthy." Why is she saying all of these to me? I can't understand a thing. Is she leaving me? Am I going to be alone? For some reason my heartbeat rose.

"Don't ever leave this room until they do. Do you understand? Wo ai ni," then she hugged me tightly. They? Who are they? I don't know what's going on but I feel like I don't want to let her go.

"Wo ye ai ni, mommy."

She smiled, a sad one, then kissed my forehead. After that she left the room.

I saw her walking straight to the door. She opened it and was greeted with three big guys. They all had a gun sticked to their hips. I know because I once saw daddy holding those. They looked like foreigners because the guy in the middle had blonde hair and he was very tall, the two guys behind him are black haired with chinky eyes. All had big, muscular bodies that daddy used to have around him. I once asked him why were they following us and he said that they are bodyguards and they will protect us. These guys doesn't seem like they want to protect mommy. It scared me.

The guys forced themselves in. They locked the door and I saw one of them held mom's arm tightly. She winced.

"Where is the daughter of the Strike Mafia's Boss?" Said the blonde haired man. The two men behind him was looking cautiously around the room.

"Strike Mafia? Daughter? I don't know what you're talking about."

He slapped mommy. My eyes widen. Mommy said that it is bad to hit someone. He hit my mom.

"This is your last chance! Where is Tristan Lee's daughter?!"

"I don't understand—" I covered my ears when he slapped my mommy again. Why is he hurting her? As far as I know my mom is a kind woman, she can't even kill a bug. Unless, she keeps secrets from me.

"I gave you my warning," he looked at the other two, "You know what to do!" He shouted at the two.

They started to grab my mother's arms, my mom fought against them but compared to her small frame, she can't even land a punch on them, and it made me mad. They started kicking her, punching her, and slapping her. It was too cruel. I felt helpless as I cannot do anything but watch.

"Don't ever leave this room until they do."

Her words kept on repeating in my head. I wanted to leave but I knew I was going to be a burden.
