Where the fuck did it all go wrong?

Was it something inevitable?

Was it fate? A lack of caution? Just a series of unfortunate events?

All you knew for sure was--

The plush, beige carpet of the penthouse was rough on your scraped up knees, the fibers digging into your bleeding skin. Everything was still ringing from the gunshots as you instinctually tried to stop the hemorrhages in your stomach.

--You were dying.

All of your senses were fuzzy. There was copper in the air as blood hacked up from your throat and burst out your nose.

The rain was the first thing you heard. The rhythmic pattering against the window your only friend in a room full of enemies.

You could hear muttering now that was growing with volume.

Then a crack to the temple had you tossed onto your side, the pain immeasurable.

You had been shot three times. Once in the chest and twice in the stomach.

In the shape of a triangle. Mikey's signature.

You gurgled through the pain, attempting to right yourself. You weren't about to die pathetically, curled up on the floor begging for mercy. No, you've been suffering for years and fighting back for six of them. You were going to die looking down the barrel of a gun.

You'd give them no reason to ask about Tachibana Naoto.

There was a touch to your chin, it was almost gentle, fingers grasping your face to look upwards.

All you could make out was shades of blond and a sickening smile.

Kisaki Tetta.

The puppeteer behind Mikey, making him dance like a marionette. You glanced past him and spotted Sano Manjiro and next to him was Hanma Shuji.

"Hahahaa..." There was a deep laughter that may have been from Hanma, "She's still alive, I've been thoroughly entertained."

Your dimming [e/c] eyes snapped back to the unsympathetic blue ones of Kisaki's as he pulled you forward slightly, "Who is Osaka?"

You didn't react, just stared at the bastard before you.

More pressure was applied with his grip, "Tell me and you can die with Inui."

Your eyes widened, "I-Inui?" Inui was here? No...no!

You tried to pull yourself from Kisaki's grasp, thrashing in place, doing everything you could to wriggle from his fingers.

Or you thought you were. You had no more energy to fight back.

"One final tragedy, hm?" Kisaki asked as he let go, removing his bloody glove as he stood, "Bring him in."
