Worrisome thoughts flew away like the ribbons of smoke that clouded above the kotatsu. A hum of contentment came from a dark haired teen as he reclined on the tatami floor sofa.
He couldn't remember exactly why his earlier thoughts had upset him, or really what they were about.
Baji only knew one thing.
He was fucking high.
He passed the hose and mouthpiece of the hookah to Kazutora who had melted in between your legs, head resting on your chest, looking the most content Baji had ever seen him.
"We have to make a decision, the three of us."
Baji looked at you who was petting Kazutora's hair, head resting on the pillows.
"Yeah," he responded now staring at the ceiling, "Chifuyu's probably mad I'm alive... or maybe that I haven't told him."
The room was silent as Kazutora passed the hose to you.
Baji's mind floated on the couch, watching as smoke rings drifted above him. Chifuyu.
He remembered meeting Chifuyu, how the underclassman helped him with his letter to Kazutora.
Chifuyu taught him how to write Tiger too...
Chifuyu helped him do a lot of things.
Chifuyu was someone Baji treasured, along with his best friends.
Chifuyu was someone he probably felt too much friendship for.
Was that even friendship anymore?
Baji didn't know.
"You guys decide, either way Mikey's gunna kill me."
Oh yeah. Mikey was also a factor to consider too.
Mikey.... was his friend. A friend who needed help.
...Isn't that why they were going to reveal themselves in the first place?
You had told them all about how Mikey was responding to the lie of Baji being dead by Kazutora's hand...
Baji didn't like it.
What type of friend was he? What was the point of saving his friends if they suffered a badly as Mikey was?
They could still keep it a secret if they swore Mikey to secrecy, right?
Would Mikey even agree to that? Would he just seek out Kisaki and Hanma and kill them?
Maybe...
Well, maybe not.
You had revealed to Mikey that Kisaki was the reason for his "death" and Kazutora's "betrayal" and yet, he let them walk away. Or from your retelling, Mikey walked away as Kisaki groveled at the foot of the stairs.
Baji chuckled.
"What?"
The teen leaned back on the pile of pillows enough to look at you upside down.
"I wish I could see Kisaki on his knees, begging Mikey."
You chuckled, "It was funny, y'know."
Baji settled again, accepting the hose from Kazutora.
"We probably shouldn't tell Mikey-kun about you two until we're all not super high."
Baji laughed, but then thought about it.
