Taiju Shiba was someone you had always just tolerated. You were his number two, the 'Mad Dog' before being named 'Inhuman'.

You weren't his number two because he trusted you. No, it was because you were strong. You intimidated him enough that he tried his best to keep you close. That's what you thought when you were a kid, at least.

Looking at him right now, sat in his plush executive chair, you were still kinda shocked you were nearly the same age as him considering he was so fucking big.

He was an incredibly violent guy, his punch was super destructive and he was marginally smart, as in he knew how to utilize Koko.

However, you knew you could beat him. He was so arrogant and headstrong that he never bothered learning tactics, just how to knock someone's head off.

Now was not the time for that though.

"I'm here boss," You greet lackadaisically, looking through the wall of windows of the pent house to cloud gaze instead of bow.

Black Dragon had lined Taiju's pockets well enough with his designer shoes and high class apartment, well on top of already being from a well off family.

The behemoth just glowered at you then turned back to a manila file in his lap, "You were at the Bloody Halloween three weeks ago."

It was a statement meant to belittle you, as if asking why you were wasting your time.

You just put on a false grin, "It sounded interesting," You chuckled, "And it was, people lost their minds, someone died..."

Taiju didn't react, just continued reading, as if ignoring you.

You weren't bothered, he was always like this. He always acted like others weren't worth his time.

"Hakkai-chan was there too, fighting for Toman," He clutched the manila folder in a death grip.

You just continued to observe the clouds out the window refusing to show him respect. No, perhaps if you stared at his face for too long you'd remember the worst night of your life again. You'd remember his bloody fists as he beat into Mitsuya-kun's dead body. How Inui had struck him in the head with the metal pipe...

You were distracted from the resurfacing memories as Taiju threw the manila folder on the table, he then snapped his fingers, "I want you to trail my little brother."

You screwed your eyes shut in confusion, "Tail Hakkai-chan?"

Taiju frowned, but relaxed further into his seat which set you on alert. You kept your lax posture, yet slid your foot slightly in a bracing motion.

"I want him in Black Dragons. Follow him to Yokohama tomorrow."

You were immediately suspicious. This hadn't happened before. Taiju never asked you to tail his brother in the other past...

You laughed softly, "Okay~," he was going to have Hakkai jumped, huh? This wasn't a question. Taiju most likely hired delinquents from one of the many gangs in Yokohama.

The real question was whether he was testing Hakkai... or you?

It would make more sense if he was testing--

You reacted immediately, sliding back slightly from the impact, catching a meaty fist in one hand, the other still in the pocket of your pants.

Your shadowed gaze turned from the windows to Taiju who towered over you menacingly, his blue hair wild and one eye nearly popping out of his head from his own intensity.
