Takemichi had no clue where the hell you were taking him and Chifuyu.
You three had just left the udon food cart a few minutes ago, Takemichi's stomach so full he felt strained, like he was going to pop. He looked to Chifuyu, who ate more than he did, and he looked just fine.
Takemichi's face nearly soured, lucky guy.
He shoved his cold hands into the pockets of the white jacket with a black dragon embroidered on the back you had bought him after you had snuck into his house the other morning. You had forced him out the house and said you were going to wear matching jackets... Mikey didn't like it though, shouting embarrassing things like, 'Takemitchy is mine!' and 'I found him first!'
You were even more embarrassing though, you declared that you were Mikey's too so he should 'get over it'.
That actually settled Mikey though, to everyone and no one's surprise at the same time.
Mikey was full predictable and unpredictable at the same time. A damn enigma. But you seemed to know how to manipulate him, something Takemichi felt grateful for, no matter how backwards that was.
The three of you crossed the street and entered some pretty seedy territory that had Takemichi on his toes, feeling like eyes were on him, making him jumpy and sweaty.
They had an upper members meeting earlier to speak on the current patrolling patterns. No one had much to update them all on, but one thing that you mentioned to him while the three of you ate was about Sanzu-kun...
You said you'd have to have a conversation with him and Takemichi and Chifuyu saluted the fifth division vice-captain. Apparently, Sanzu had done something that had you suspicious during his captain's report.
Takemichi had sighed about it and decided to leave that to you to work out, if you needed his help, you would say so.
Takemichi was not fine with the direction the three of you were heading to... and it only got worse when you turned down an incredibly suspicious alleyway. The dampness and trash strewn about was illuminated by the red lamp light at the dead end, the dumpster looking like it had been overflowing for years...
Why the hell were you three here??
Chifuyu was tense next to Takemichi and it did nothing but to heighten his anxiety and adrenaline.
Your steps were sure and confident, each click clack bringing a small measure of security to Takemichi's soul.
You wouldn't let them get hurt, right?
Takemichi was frustrated in himself, he was able to leap through time, able to do impossible things. So why the hell was he so scared all the time while you walked through life with such confidence?
No.
No, Takemichi knew why.
Takemichi spent his whole life sitting around being a yes man while you were a gangster. You were forced to make tough calls, forced to act a certain way until it was second nature. Takemichi knew if he was in the same boat it would probably be easy for him too.
Maybe...
You stopped at the end and stepped around the dumpster, knocking three times on a thick metal door that was so rusted it didn't stand out much against the brown brick.
A slip in the door opened a fraction and a gruff voice spoke one phrase:
"If we're belly up to the bar--"
And your response:
"We're fighting in the shade; three licks south wind."
