There are plenty of people who owed Kokonoi Hajime favors. Plenty of strings to pull and plenty of people to manipulate. He had been building favors since he was twelve, learning earlier on that sometimes the best form of currency isn't money, but people.

He stepped down the destitute streets of east Tokyo, Sanya to be exact. He passed about three homeless, passed out on the sides of the road, one still drinking.

He steered himself around the debris, his boots crunching over the trash that was unavoidable. His nose crinkled, disgusted, but still accepted the task at hand.

Koko had a few people in seats of power who owed him favors, one being a young officer for the Azabu Police in Roppongi, Sugita Tetsu.

Sugita Tetsu was someone who worked with the Black Dragons a few times. You see, Koko had enemies and he found the most effective way to deal with them being the police. Koko figured if you were his enemy it wasn't really snitching.

In return for Koko's "free" information that helped Sugita get a higher position in his department, Sugita would owe him a favor and Sugita had to do it.

Koko wasn't stupid. No Koko had contingency plans if Sugita betrayed him and Sugita knew that. Besides, he was gaining much from this unofficial partnership, so would always be game to play.

Koko turned down another alley, passed a neon traffic barricade where dozens of homeless loitered the night, curled up under their blankets, some laying on the concrete with a rolled magazine as a pillow.

The stench smelt like depression, tragedy and suffering. This was something you wanted to deal with. You wanted to help these people and turn a profit while you did it.

Koko watched his step as he made his way through the destitute valley. Ever since you came back a weight had been lifting from his chest. He was with Seishu now, closer than he ever had been before.

A tingly sensation fluttered in his finger tips at the phantom sensation of holding his hand earlier... amongst other things. Koko... Koko had never felt so... settled. Like everything could fall away and it wouldn't matter if Seishu was there.

Was this love?

Yeah, this was love.

He kept his mind on Seishu in order to ignore the people around him, arms hidden in his trench coat, right hand on his gun. Just in case.

He reached the middle of the alley and turned left, entering a dead end, and standing against the wall at the end was Sugita.

He ran a hand through his black hair, eyes wide and alert, "Damn it Kokonoi-san, why am I out here? You know I hate this place." His hands were shaking and if Koko had a sense of empathy for a police officer he may have felt bad. But that was just it, he knew exactly who he was dealing with.

He was dealing with a crooked mother fucker.

Koko jumped to the point in order to leave just as fast and pulled out a manila envelope, "So sorry, Sugita-san," He said with a smile, tongue out, "The favor is to place these in evidence against Isobe Seiji, the man being charged for assault."

Sugita took the envelope and unfolded the clip, brown eyes widening at the contents, "Whoa, are these real? They're pretty graphic..."

Koko shook his head, "Isobe is pretty upstanding and the whole trial is a farce," Koko pointed to the image of a man in a suit with a teen girl in a western styled bar, the angle the photo was taken at was pretty suggestive, "These are manipulative and doctored. He didn't do anything with this girl, but you're going to slip them into evidence."
