Senju vs. Izana
The tension was thick as everyone paused their own battles to watch the newcomer stand up to their leader. The girl was standing stoically, posture ready and energy buzzing. Except, her eyes were blazing with determination.
Izana noticed this. He watched the girl size him up as his feet slipped further apart. He could tell she was good, really good. She could possibly be on par with him. He wasn't arrogant enough to overlook anything that could negatively impact him on the battle field.
"Hmph," The girl huffed, "You're the guy [y/n]-kun likes so much, right?" Her eyes narrowed as she clocked his every move. She was determined, that much he was sure of. She would be a hassle. Still Izana smirked, that's right. You were his kohai. You were going to give up this frivolous game with Manjirou and his goons and support him.
"That's right. I'm her senpai, worm."
Senju sneered as her foot slid more to the side and Izana braced himself for her obvious forward dash, "If she respects you so much and you're her senpai, then why are you causing her so much trouble?!"
Izana didn't have a chance to respond right away as he instinctually rose an arm to block a flying kick, the hit not as harsh as he thought it would be. His purple eyes quickly zeroed in on the way her arm rotated and, to the girl's shock, he blocked her main attack. She used the force she placed in her second kick to propel herself away from Izana, her feet raising dust into the air as she slid into a crouch.
Izana casually leaned back, his defending arm dropped and a small, irritated smile graced his lips, "Nakakainis ka na," he muttered.
Senju cocked her head to the side, ticked off, "What did you call me?" She didn't know what the hell he said, but she was sure he was insulting her!
Izana shook his head, posture confident. He chuckled to himself and swished his coat to the side, "You should keep your ignorant peasant nose out of my business."
Senju's face soured as her body language tensed and she launched forward--
Izana did find this girl annoying, but also, in a way, pretty entertaining for a sand flea.
Takemichi vs Kakucho
He wasn't fairing too well. Well, not all thanks to Kakucho, but he had been fighting an uphill battle for a while now. He was surprised in himself that he was actually still standing and managing to keep up with Kakucho.
"The Indominable Takemichi," Kakucho spoke through panting lips, "Izana named you right. Why are you still standing?" His eyes were narrowed in exhaustion as he eyes his opponent who was bruised and bloodied, but still standing tall.
Takemichi was wondering how he was still standing himself. He knew why, but he couldn't understand how.
"I'm fighting for something I can't afford to lose." His words were spoken with absolute confidence, his blue eyes shining as he stared down his old friend, "You understand, right Kakucho? You're fighting for Izana--"
Kakucho cut him off, "Stop," His voice was resolute as he stood from his kneeling position and wiped some blood from his lip, "I'm fighting for Tenjiku."
Takemichi stood silent.
"Tenjiku is more than a gang. You wouldn't understand the bond between orphans, between kids who were never wanted." His mismatched eyes blazed with a fire that had Takemichi on edge, "Tenjiku is a place when all the orphans in the world can never feel alone again. It means more than anything you're fighting for."
