"You were gunna leave your friends to die, right? It's only natural, no delinquent would fight a hopeless battle in the face of death."
You once thought that until the Christmas Conflict where you hadn't expected to fall in love with the person who...
Mikey knew there was something fundamentally wrong with himself, that his mental health wasn't the best. When he hit a certain thresh hold he would become someone he hated. That person wouldn't know up from down, left from right... right from wrong. and when he'd become aware again, he was left with the aftermath.
He knew he wasn't normal. He would always do things in extremes.
When he was woken up this morning he hadn't the faintest clue that he'd be that person today.

You sat outside Olee at a metal table with a bowl of anmitsu parfait. You pushed the little colorful balls around with a skewer while you stared at the contact on your phone.
You groaned to yourself, you had to do this today. There was no more stalling. If you wanted his trust this had to be done.
You grew some balls and dialed the contact number. You shrugged your shoulders a few times to relax yourself. This was the decided course of action from everyone involved, including Chifuyu and Takemitchy.
You were the more adult adult though, so you were going to shoulder the burden of actually telling Mikey.
No offence to Takemitchy, but he looked a hair away from a nervous breakdown so you said you'd do it. No, this was preferable, since you'd be in charge.
The line rang twice before an answer, "Hello, Mikey-kun~ Can we meet up, just you and me? It's really important, like, you need to know asap." Your tone was off handed, a way to not raise his suspicions so he'd arrive relaxed and not on guard.
"Yeah, [n/n]chin," He sounded sleepy, a yawn coming from the other line, "Where do ya wanna meet?"
In the twelve years of knowing future Mikey, you knew one way to lure him in.
"Olee, I'll buy you some snacks before we talk." The promise of snacks.
"OWAH HAHA!" He suddenly sounded full of life, like you said the magic word, "I'm on the way~"
You smiled to yourself and popped an anmitsu in your mouth, "Mumnum, See yhou swooooon~"
You hung up the phone then called over a waitress, "Can I get a plate of Dorayaki, please?"
The waitress smiled, her brown eyes twinkling, it was well known that you were a big spender at the café and thus treated very well.
As she's leaving you remembered something crucial, "Wait," You called and she turned around with that same pearly smile, "Please put a little flag on top? My breakfast date is a total child about the little flags."
The waitress laughed softly behind her hand, "Of course."
It was silly, but even Mikey as a terrifying yakuza boss would get pissy about the lack of flag on his meals. It used to just be on the kid's meal, but then evolved into all his meals out. You thought that maybe it was because it was something that reminded him of better times.
Whatever it was you had to take care of his wants and needs, now that he was your boss and all.
It was about half an hour later that Mikey was sitting across from you with a lazy grin, eyes with more life in them than you'd ever seen before. It made a warmth spread in your chest at the look in his eyes.
You understood then what made kids give their lives for him, he was physically charismatic. His smile was so cute. Oh god, little Mikey was everything, wasn't he?
"Mikey-kun looks really cute in the morning, huh?" You teased him, pushing the plate of dorayaki towards him.
He was wearing a white jacket and tan scarf combo, the weather still being chilly out.
"Ahaha! Morning, [n/n]chin~" He said in a way that had him looking like a little kid and not a gang leader. He gasped, "A flag!" He gushed over the strip of fabric on a toothpick, picking it up gently and setting it down next to the plate.
"Thank you, [n/n]chin!" He said with a mouth already stuffed full with one of the three dorayaki on the plate.
"So," He said through the food, "How's being in Toman? You talk with Takemitchy yet?"
You smiled, swallowing another anmitsu ball before answering, "Yeah, he's a cutie too. But, y'know, I just can't figure out why he's so scared of me though."
Mikey barked another laugh, "Takemitchy is brave when it counts, y'know? He's really strong too."
"Yeah?" You asked, placing your chin in hand, leaning on the table, "I assumed he was, with how he took that beating from Taiju, even brought him to his knees once."
You were actually impressed by that one since Taiju was really strong, bringing him to his knees was an accomplishment.
Mikey was on his last dorayaki when you made the decision to just rip off the band-aid.
"This is about the other night, in the church," You decided to just start. It would be worse if you danced around the topic.
You glanced back up to Mikey who was cutely munching on a dorayaki, cheeks puffed out. Mikey had always been incredibly cute or dangerous, there was no mild in between for him... which was a shame for women and men in your future since he was a sexually repulsed asexual.
No, don't distract yourself.
Mikey gave you his attention, black eyes looking more empty than when he arrived and you acknowledged that his burden would either shrink or grow with what was about to be said.
"Part of giving my life to you is being honest. I wasn't originally going to tell you, to be honest, because it could jeopardize my plans, but there's no point in my strategy if in the end you don't trust me... and you're hurt."
His eyes became worryingly distant as he swallowed the last of the dorayaki in his cheeks, "Hm... what do you mean [n/n]chin?" You had to spit it out before Mikey lost trust in you and closed you out.
"Kazutora isn't in South Korea... He's living with me..." You paused, steadying your hands so they wouldn't shake from the adrenaline, "and Baji's alive."
You watched Mikey process your words with a detachment that would have scared you if you hadn't dealt with a scarier version of him.
"Baji's alive?" He asked hollowly, like the words were weird in his mouth.
You nodded, "Kisaki was aiming to kill him and Kazutora," You noticed his eyebrow raise at the familiarity you used with their names, "I've been hiding them from Kisaki... no one else can know."
Mikey was silent. He looked back down at his plate, picked up the little blue flag and placed it in an interior jacket pocket, then stood.
When his eyes met yours again they were empty, hollow voids, even the air around him becoming denser with the tension, "Take me to him."
And you couldn't refuse.
Not Mikey.
