They were fighting for their lives.
Mitsuya hadn't realized just how bad the situation was until he received Chifuyu's phone call. When he arrived the first division vice captain was tied up, apparently betrayed by Kisaki and Hanma, left to die.
He was filled with a rage he'd never felt before. To be so dishonorable while wearing HIS uniform? Unacceptable.
But that was for later, because Hakkai and Takemitchy were in trouble.
And that's where he was right now, fighting not just for his life, but for his friend's and Yuzuha's.
Just like Baji would have wanted.
So Mitsuya gladly put his life on the line for Toman.
He was badly injured, taking that pipe to the head had been the worst thing to happen to him tonight, by far. To be honest, he was surprised he was still standing, with just how much his head had bled.
He knocked another of the assistants out, grateful he still had that much to give, but Hakkai had to hold up Takemitchy who was limp under his arm, Chifuyu couldn't even stand right now.
Mitsuya was the oldest, he had to stand, he had to win.
"Neh, Taiju," And Mitsuya was stunned at the new voice, his head slowly turning to the right... there was no one there, Koko and Inupi were further back. Looking to them, they were relaxed, looking upwards.
His vision tracked theirs... to an upper balcony... where you were.
And he didn't know what to say.
You were obviously a Black Dragon, but why were you here?
You leaned against the railings, cigarette in hand, looking down at them with apathetic eyes.
How long had you been there?
Were you here to just watch? To help your leader?... to help them out?
"You're having such a hard time, huh?" Came a tone that matched your disinterested face, flicking your cigarette.
And when he focused his blurry vision he finally noticed that your uniform was different. It was red, the traditional color a leader would wear like Mikey's red sash, or Taiju's own red uniform...
Did that mean you were the 11th generation boss for the Black Dragons?
Mitsuya couldn't take his eyes from you as you turned for the stairs.
"What... the fuck are you doing here, [y/n]?" Taiju asked with obvious fear and Mitsuya could finally relax. He fell to a pew, the relief taking what little dredged up strength he had to flee him.
You walked leisurely towards Taiju, dropping your lit cigarette to the carpet, stepping on it as you walked past them all.
Your presence was intense, but for him, it was very welcome.
"I've seen enough," Your words were just a matter of fact, lacking any intent, "I'm done playing with you, Taiju."
Taiju's face twisted further with rage, "YOU DOG!! YOU THINK YOU CAN TAKE THE BLACK DRAGONS FROM ME?!"
You were now in front of Mitsuya, facing Taiju.
You were so much smaller than that monster... but the way you stood, so nonchalant, had Mitsuya leaning back in his seat.
Mitsuya cared about you. In the time he's gotten to know you he's only known someone pleasant and kind. Yes, it was obvious you weren't the best person. You were violent, destructive, and intimidating... but it was so obvious that you tried to be a good person.
