Inui had a dream a week ago, a dream that had him on edge. It was from that god awful future where you were in the coma, Koko was dead and Baji, Kazutora and Chifuyu were doing everything they could to safeguard Inui's life in order to send both you and Takemichi back to the past when the time came.

Though he had memories of the futures you've been to they were hazy, more like he remembers moments of intense emotional stress. But if he remembered one thing about that awful dream...

Osanai was under current orders to investigate a rumored drive-by within Tenjiku. Lower wrung gang members liked to gossip about anything they overheard about the upper ranks, feeling the tiny rush of power knowing they knew something the rest of the grunts didn't and were quick to get their fifteen seconds of admiration before the others moved on to get their own.

He came up with nothing of too much substance, which was something you didn't find odd now since Osanai had earned your ear. He had been working hard, doing everything he could to be the best rat he could be, scurrying around on his belly to do your bidding within the enemy gang.

He was slowly, but surely, working off the debt he owed to Pah-kun.

But that wasn't what was important. The only reason you knew there would even be a drive-by was something future Kisaki said as Hanma choked the life out of Inui.

Inui, your best friend, brother really, had tried his hardest to bring up those memories of a life he hadn't yet lived, and had been suffering each night for it. You recalled just how tightly he would grip onto Koko in his sleep. Overhearing the way Koko cried from how much Inui was suffering and he couldn't help.

No, Inui finally remembered what they had said. Something about a drive-by that would 'take the wind from your sails'.

"Koko was a devastating waste, but we still should have killed you with him. New plan, Hanma. Gun down the second targets in the past, make sure you completely break [y/n]. It's important she not be killed or end up like this. We've gotta make her more like Mikey.'

You fully understood what he meant now.

It wasn't the original drive-by that left you in a coma, that wasn't what he was talking about.

You were rushing to Mitsuya's house like you were out running a forest fire. Your slate grey 01' V-Rod 1100 tore down the streets of Shibuya, you ran every light you saw, not even registering the color. The sounds of honks and squealing tires were distant as you sped down the memorized streets towards the only destination that currently mattered.

This drive-by wasn't for Mitsuya, you knew it in your bones. This was a pitfall for you. You were supposed to find out through Mitsuya what had happened to his family.

Kisaki knew what your motivations were, he knew the way to break you was through Mitsuya. What better way to destroy you than to turn the one you loved against you?

If everything turned out alright you would reward Osanai for his hard work!

You turned a corner, the turn so sharp you nearly touched the ground.

Hanma had traveled back at around the same time as you and Takemichi in that future timeline, so you were all racing to change the future before the others. The only difference was that Takemichi and you were working together with others, something Kisaki and Hanma likely had no real clue about.

They likely suspected that Chifuyu was helping out Takemichi and Inui and Koko were helping you out.

Inui said that he doesn't think that Hanma knew about his survival, he said that Baji was under a new identity and spent the last twelve years going by Choji, often spending most of his time in South Korea with his mother.
