They lit up the roadway like they were kids again, way too fast with no regard for anyone's lives.
They made it to the apartment in Edogawa in record time, hearts racing and adrenaline pumping. So much was riding on the next few minutes. Everything was riding on it. Takeomi watched as lights lit up the grey concrete.
There were bikes everywhere, and a few Tenjiku members outside the small apartment complex, they stood around laughing in their uniforms, faces flushed with excitement.
Takeomi would show them excitement.
They peeled into the parking lot on their bikes and even from the ground they could hear banging and shouting coming from and open window from the top.
The sound of girls screaming.
Benkei rushed the dozen guys by the bikes. They wouldn't stand a chance, the man was a monster on his own and he couldn't let his friend Shinichiro down. His massive fist smashed into the face of one guy and his shoulder checked another, the boy being bodily tossed into a line of motorbikes, knocking them over. They began to shout, but it was too late, Benkei's dark skin was bursting with veins as he went on his rampage.
"You punks think you can take me on?!" He grunted through his nose as his fists became all the more bloody.
All the while Takeomi darted up the stairs, throwing delinquents over the railings while keeping his momentum. The fall was becoming more devastating for the grunts with each heave, but the man didn't care. This assholes came to hurt some teenage girls.
He couldn't tolerate the thought of mercy.
He sees a few guys crowding around a busted down door and he takes out his one brass knuckle for his bad hand that hasn't been the same since he broke it a few years ago.
He pounced, fists flying. He slammed one intruder into the door jam and the other was kicked in the knee, the crunch loud as he screamed and he fell, garbling about the pain. The third threw a hazardous punch, eyes wide as Takeomi ducked around it and his brass knuckle broke the boy's nose.
He finally made it into the room, a large man was leaning against a table, a long cut bleeding from above his eye and four other teens, no, men, circling around two girls. It was Emma and Yuzuha fighting these men off the best they could. Emma looked scared and Yuzuha feral, both with blood and bruises on their faces. Yuzuha was bleeding from her thigh, the wound resembling a gunshot with just how much blood was seeping from the hole.
She also held a weapon in hand, an aluminum bat with the dregs of blood on the end.
The tension was thick and his sudden appearance paused the conflict. Takeomi stood in the doorway, blood dripping from the brass knuckle as he took in the scene.
"I've been an awful big brother and a bad friend, but I'm here now Shinichiro! Cheer me on!" He shouted as he decked the closest guy in the jaw.
He was going to protect these little sisters! He was going to do something good with his life, dammit. Something to make up for how shit of a human being he had always been.
And it started right now.
The man leaning against the table stood straighter, a streak of fear crossing his eyes as he took in the man fighting off his forces. Gariman, wasn't one for needless violence, but Izana's strategist had ordered this, so he had no choice. Not since he was beaten in his own turf of Ueno. He tightened his hand on the gun as he lifted his arm towards the girl, Emma.
One bullet, he could do this. One bullet was all it would take. He squeezed the trigger--
A man much taller than him had thrown off his trajectory and the bullet went wide as his head was thrown to the side, the pain in his skull rattled his sight as it went dark for a moment. His gun trained on the intruder and before he could shoot again, there was an intense pain in the back of his head as he fell forward, everything going black.
Yuzuha stood above the gang leader, her bat bloody as she raised it to hit him once more for good measure. *Klink* the sound reverberated across the room as her arm went partially numb from the vibrations, "I told you I'd beat you!" Yuzuha snarled as she took a staggered step back.
She did it. She beat him. She protected her friend and saved her own life. Yes the man helped, but she still did it, dealt the finishing blow. Emma knowing how to fight was really the only way Yuzuha was even able to get this far anyways. They did it together. You would be so proud.
Her legs felt weak suddenly as she tried to catch her breath. The bat fell from her grip as she sunk to the carpet.
"Omi-nii-san!" Emma shouted in both surprise and relief. "Help! She's bleeding! Yuzu's been shot!" The blond ran to her friend, her bruised face taking in the bullet wound with worried eyes.
"Yeah, got it," Takeomi answered, his breath comin out sharply as he knelt down in front of the fierce girl. She reflexively smacked his hand away and Takeomi took in a calming breath. This girl didn't know him, didn't feel secure. Of course she didn't, they were just attacked.
She did look sheepish when he held up his hands in surrender though, "S-sorry," Her teeth chattered, "The adrenaline is wearing off."
Takeomi nodded, "It's fine." He reached out again and this time she let him touch her thigh where the bullet wound was. It was clean through he noticed as he felt along the back. "Good. This makes it easy."
"What does?" Emma asked worriedly, her hands wringing as she tried to help. Her blond bangs stuck to her forehead from sweat and nerves.
"It went clean through and I don't think it nicked anything important, you're lucky."
Takeomi leaned back and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it quickly. The girls wrinkled their noses in annoyance, but were otherwise quiet about the rudeness of their savior.
Before they continued another man stepped through the door, his frame so large he had to duck down a bit in order to fit.
"AH! Kei-nii-san!!" Emma shouted, further relieved. The big man gave a smile as he hugged the girl who was now hanging around his waist, "Did Mikey send you?"
"Yeah, things are heating up, but you see that right?" He gently patted the girl's head as she squeezed a bit tighter.
Emma pulled back a bit and made eye contact with Yuzuha both nodded.
"Yeah," Yuzuha grunted as Takeomi tended to her wound, "[y/n]-Ane said things were gunna start getting dangerous for real now."
"She's in the hospital right now," The two girl's gasped, question's bombarded the man who had to take a deep inhale before answering them, "She was protecting Takemitchy and took an attack from Kisaki. She's gunna be fine, but it was a good hit."
Yuzuha pushed the man's hands away and Emma helped her to her feet, "We gotta go now, gotta help her."
Takeomi shook his head at their determination. It was respectable, but ultimately foolhardy, "No, we're taking you to the hospital Yuzuha, that bullet wound needs to been seen by a doctor," At her challenging look he added, "Unless you want to loose that leg?"
Yuzuha scoffed, but was quick to give in, there'd be no point in her helping out anyone if she really did loose her leg. After everything that had happened in her life, all she had been through, she knew when to stop. She had to be content with the job accomplished here.
As the four turned to leave, Yuzuha kicked that man, Gariman, in the face, one time for good measure.
It was time to head back to Shibuya, to at least lend their support to you in your time of healing.
"I'm coming [y/n]-chan!" The girls spoke in unison...
In the end Emma and Yuzuha wouldn't find you at the hospital, you were already gone, and no one was willing to stop you.
...
