He couldn't believe it. He was already here when he got the call from Draken, that you were on the way. At the time he was confused, were you coming to see his mother too? No. No, it was bad. Bad to the point that you were the person behind the red 'surgery in progress' light. His heart hurt, lips dry and hands shook. He was desperate for good news. Anything.

You had come by ambulance and he arrived just in time to see you being wheeled into surgery, Mikey, Draken, Takemitchy and Inupi followed behind.

"Mitsuya!" Draken rushed, the hand placed on his shoulder was grounding enough to get him to look away from the door, "Good thing you were already here."

"What the hell happened?"

"Kisaki happened," Takemitchy answered, scowl fierce and hands fisted, "It's my fault she had to save me."

"No," Inupi spoke, "She's like that. If she cares about you she'll help you out." Inupi nodded, eyes serious and the room settled into silence.

You were injured protecting Takemitchy then? It upset him, but at the same time, Mitsuya understood because he'd of done the same thing for his friends.

They each sat in silence, the atmosphere getting heavier and heavier with each passing moment. You were alive, right? So you had to pull through fully. He had to believe that. He needed to.

Mikey sat along, head leaning against the wall, looking tired in his uniform, ready to fight, but looking dispirited. Mitsuya wanted him to stand and reassure him, to do anything that would make everything alright. But Mikey sat there like the rest of them, on his hands and waiting.

They had waited so long that Wakasa had made it from Yokohama. He looked relaxed, but Mitsuya knew that was a façade, he knew that he loved you deeply and was just as hurt as everyone else was.

"Mikey," Wakasa spoke and the leader of Toman nodded, "What the hell, man?"

Mikey shrugged then stood toe to toe with the older man, "[n/n]chin did what she needed to do." Was all he said, voice neutral and eyes as heavy as the atmosphere as they stared at one another for a long moment. If it was anyone else, they likely would have challenged Mikey, but Wakasa nodded and sat next to Mitsuya.

The silence resumed, for so long in fact Takemitchy had already left to lead Toman in battle. They should have left too, but they knew they wouldn't have been focused enough and would have been in the way. They would simply trust in Takemitchy, like they always did, to be the acting president.

It was nearly half an hour more when Kisaki's father finally exited the surgical room. No one stood to greet the nervous, disheveled doctor. They stared at him, "Well, Kisaki-sensei, what's the verdict?" Wakasa spoke, tone deadly calm.

"O-oh, yes, she's well," He spoke while checking his clipboard, "We ran three separate tests and determined she'd likely escaped brain damage. She had multiple staples in her head. He most serious injury was to her shoulder. The shoulder blade was severely cracked and the arm was fractured in three points and broken in one." He shuffled through his notes, "A-and um, it seems that if the arm doesn't heal correctly then we may need to amputate a-at a later date..."

Mitsuya exhaled a deep breath. Amputate? That sounded serious. But... she was going to live and without brain damage too.

"So the bat really did just hit her shoulder then?" Mikey sighed then smiled, "Good thing she's taller than Takemitchy then."

"Y-yes," Doctor Kisaki answered, " It seems she'd escaped death by wearing those heels she came in with."

Mitsuya chuckled, heart lighter. That was good. His legs stretched out from the cramped position he held. Thank god. Thank god.
